I went with Robinson here even though I like Sherwood to prove I'm not a homer.

Since we're done with adds, we can look at our unofficial Honorable Mentions, i.e. players receiving add votes but not enough to get added:
Meyer
Collins
Fix-Wolansky
Stucker
Howarth
MacInnis
Kivlenieks

Other than guys aging out or graduating or both or who are no longer with the team, the players on last year's top 20 who won't make this year's are Kivlenieks and Meyer, I think. Looks like seven spots opened up.

Also Vainio and Bittner were among the HMs last year but didn't receive any add votes this year.

Not hating, but just curious what people see in Robinson?

Personally, I like guys who played four years of college hockey, regardless of how/where they were drafted. It's become a pretty good proving ground/development for young players. Robinson seems to be a good skater and a big-ish body who probably could play some on the fourth line as soon as this coming season. He could be a valuable role player, and I think his path to that role is kind of available right now, and yes I'm taking that into account.

Well, on the positive side, nearly my entire top-20 is represented here. (All but Fix-Wolansky. Clearly y'all have an anti-hyphen agenda. ;) )

On the negative side, not a single one of my Honorable Mentions made the cut (I wasn't including guys who only got one vote). Ow.

I’m not big on Robinson, but I do agree he has a seemingly short path to being a 4th liner. I just don’t see any NHL traits there aside from North-South speed, so I’m not sure he’ll ever be much more than a fringe guy.

We’re at #16, on a group that’s the weakest it’s been in years. Curb your enthusiasm and your standards.

It may well be the weakest but that's primarily at the top (acknowledged that that's the most important part...)

But I think the bottom half is as strong or stronger than its been.

Sam, you started voting to add him during the #6 poll, so I think it's a fair question by CBJWennberg.
