Six but who's counting :P It's a bad team too, maybe they shouldn't be losing to the Hawks but they really have crapola left.

I don't understand these ridiculous early-season firings in the NBA, the Suns did it a couple years ago too after three games. If the coach is on THAT short a leash, why not just can him in the offseason?

They were always going to be bad without LeBron

Weird league when yo ucould make 2 straight NBA Finals, win championships and then get fired like 5 games into the next season

Ty Lue was NEVER a good coach, but when you piggyback on Lebron to a ring, and proceed to go back to back to the Finals, they don't have an excuse to fire you.

worth noting hes either the highest paid coach in the league or at worst top 3. IIRC his last contract was worth 4 million+, might be close to 5 million per year.

In case there was any doubt (there shouldn't have been), Dan Gilbert once again shows just how incompetent he is. He was reportedly fine with LeBron leaving because he wanted HIS team back, thought he could compete with this roster, and then fires Lue six games in and is now on the hook for the $15M remaining on his contract. This post-LeBron era might be even worse than the first time.

Lue was never a good choice for a head coach especially a championship caliber one.

Lue was GM LeBron's hire. He wanted to be coached by an ex player, tried to get Gilbert to hire Mark Jackson but he instead went with Lue, who was already on the staff.

I know Gilbert had no choice in resigning him after they won in '16, but he did not have to give him that much $$$ nor that many extra years. It was clear even then that LeBron was going to leave in 2018 unless they did a 3 peat.

Might as well and get another #1 pick.

With Warriors dominance, if there was any time to tank, its probably now.

Cavs will join Minnesota, Sacramento, Orlando, Detroit etc. as the teams just filling the schedule for the half dozen truly elite for the next decade. They will never get a generational talent like Lebron again.

time to bring back these bad boys

in all honesty though, for a franchise that has been as historically bad as the cavs, the fact that they got a title with lebron should be enough to keep the fanbase happy while they dwell in the cellar for the next however many years. that is unless the league starts handing them #1 overall picks again
