Well at least the goal differential won't get significantly worse.

Still though, it's incredibly frustrating that when this team gets an opportunity to grab points while either in or bordering on getting a playoff spot, they start losing in regulation and/or lose games in OT/SO in which they led by 2 or more.

Been a theme the entire decade.

Skinner really needs to learn how to do something besides score. His plus minus is atrocious.
He's a slightly better version of Chad LaRose. Can't skate (no, doing pretty figure skating moves isn't a sign of good skating), can't pass, just constantly tries to do everything by himself and takes low percentage scoring chances. At the end of the year he ends up with a nice goal total because he never tried to do anything all season except score goals taking 10 shot attempts a game while ignoring his teammates and cherrypicking. Maybe if Skinner passed or played defense and stopped hanging out at center ice looking for a breakout pass he'd wind up with less goals but actually help his team more?

It's amazing that people whine about Jeff Skinner not getting good enough linemates. Whoever he plays with he does the same thing. It's f***ing infuriating watching Skinner play with Lindholm who has probably the best puck/passing skills on the team but yet doesn't get to touch the puck because Jeff Skinner is trying to do his figure skating moves past the other team the entire game.

The frustrating thing is that when Skinner is motivated to actually do it, he can play great d. He backchecks aggressively and can steal pucks better than anyone else in the league. Literally. He's led the league in takeaways for long stretches before. When he gets mad and decides that he wants the puck, he can just go and take it from any player in the league, and it's hilarious to watch.

Did somebody beat that out of him? Did he lose any motivation? He hasn't been this bad in years. The last couple years he was actually pretty good. Maybe we just finally crushed his soul like we've done with every other offensive star this franchise has ever had.
