Women's hockey doesn't get as much attention around here and in general. But today, one of the greats hangs up her skates. The fact she played for Les Canadiennes de Montréal (associated with the Habs) gives me even more reason to post it in the Habs forum. Congrats to Ouellette.

She was on with Jean-Charles Lajoie earlier and he asked her with Wickenheiser being hired by the Leafs, would she join the Habs should they ever approach her. She said she wants to be involved in developing women's hockey and help it progress.

already 20 years

time sure goes fast

It's crazy. You get so used to seeing them all the time in every competition so you just get accustomed to seeing the same women all the time. But when they finally retire, it strikes you because they were there for so long that you feel like it's the end of something significant.

Thanks for posting about this Adam, I heard the news once or twice today on the radio about her retiring but never did the connection until I read it here.

What a great career she's had. Wonder what,'s up next for her.
