I still don't think Cam is elite though. But I see all these WRs continue to drop easy passes. So there's that to consider too

Very realistic that he could spend at least a little bit of time at #1.

Adrian Peterson - 102 probably retiring in the next season or two
Marshawn Lynch - 84 would be surprised if this isn't his last season
Frank Gore - 77 would be surprised if this isn't his last season
LeSean McCoy - 66 would be surprised if this isn't his last season
Cam Newton - 57
LeGarrette Blount - 51 in the process of losing his job, won't get carries
Jonathan Stewart - 51 barely touches the ball anymore
Mark Ingram - 44 hasn't even started his season because of a PED suspension, and is approaching 30
Le'Veon Bell - 35 hasn't even started his season because of a holdout, may get traded

So you have to go all the way down to Todd Gurley at #10, with his 33 career rushing TDs, before you see a guy who's actually in a position to keep pace with Cam right now.

It basically comes down to whether Adrian Peterson retires soon, or tries to be one of those Jagr types who just keeps finding a job somewhere. If AP retires within a season or two, Ingram or Bell would have to come up with consecutive monster seasons to catch up quickly enough.

So yeah, there's a very good chance that the NFL's active rushing leader will be a QB. There's some weird trivia to look forward to.
