Any Panthers fan should have known we weren't planning on tanking after the Bridgewater signing. Even if they didn't realize it then, they should have known after we made CMC the highest paid back in the NFL.

Based on draft profiles and ratings, it looks like the Panthers did pretty well on day 2. Still could use corner help if they don’t move Chinn around

I like what they've done so far. A big part of the 49ers rebuild was heavily investing in the DL positions. Another 1-2 drafts/offseasons to round out the team and they could be a legit contender again.

said they will address via fa and trades for o
They already signed Robby Anderson. Now they just really need a TE. As for the defense, we lost Kuechly, 3 DTs and our best pass rusher and corner in one offseason. That defense was also one of the Panthers worst in years. Not surprised they went defense heavy.

They allowed the most rushing TD's since the 0-16 Detroit Lions. That was 11 years ago.

Holy hell I knew the defense was bad but that bad? Woof.

This draft was great. Honestly taking Brown over Simmons seems worth it so I don't have to hear Simmons compared to Kuechly on a weekly basis. I'll take comparing Brown to Simmons instead.

Jerry Richardson statue being moved after all. Good riddance. I don't really care if he brought a team to the Carolinas, he's objectively a bad person.

1 year deal, so this might be it. Good luck to him nonetheless. Time sure does fly.

I shed no tears for its removal either, and to be honest I barely knew of the statue in the first place.

Cool stuff as a Pats and Panthers fan. I don't have much faith in Cam staying healthy at this point, but it's a good risk to take and worst case he has the Auburn connection with Stidham.

Statues in front of stadiums are usually for legendary players, like the Sam Mills statue nearby. To me it felt really weird to have a statue of a not-particularly-legendary executive out in front of the building. It put a very conspicuous light on the lack of players who deserved a statue. Imagine a Tom Dundon or Peter Karmanos statue out in front of PNC. That's just gross. Owners get the profits, they don't need a statue to commemorate themselves.

If they really felt like they just had to do it, it's the sort of thing that should be done after someone's dead, not while he's still signing paychecks for the same suck-ups who arranged for the statue. It's like your kids giving you a portrait of yourself to hang over the fireplace. There's just something weird about that dynamic.

But NC's really bad about stuff like this anyway. We could produce the greatest inventor/artist/athlete in the world, and we'd still name the main street of his home town after some Deputy Commissioner of Commerce.

I'm happy for Cam. I hope it works out at least well enough for him to catch on somewhere else even if not New England. The guy is goofy, be it his social media persona or clothing choices, but he's still a good person and I'll always have some love in my heart for him. We might have to wait awhile before we get another franchise type QB again especially with Bridgewater who will keep us just decent enough to miss out on top guys like Lawrence, Fields, and Lance. Maybe we'll get Howell from UNC but it's too early to say whether he'll be a top QB prospect.

I don't want to root for the Patriots.

But I also don't want to root for the Panthers right now. And my local team here in DC is racist.

Halp.

I don't want to root for the Patriots, but swapping Brady for Cam makes it a lot easier and something I might actually consider once the Panthers season becomes meaningless (week 4).

The Cowboys are kind of a laughingstock these days but I still despise them most other than the Saints, who are a garbage franchise run by even more garbage people.
