Just wanted to give you all a quick post on the musings of the Carolina Hurricane franchise.

Sasha Barkov is fantastic and arguably has the best contract (post rookie deal) in the HFNHL. A solid two way top line player. Brayden Schenn is a solid top line winger or second line center if needed.

We are happy to have graduated three prospects this year to the big club
  • Julius Honka D
  • Patrick Nemeth D
  • Joel Eriksson-Ek F
We traded or let go a lot of our veterans a foolishly booked a holiday over the FA period so we ran into a salary floor issue. We absorbed some horrific contracts to the delight of our competitors.

We are very much looking forward to graduating more prospects next year as the 50 games threshold is coming or past by players we have very high hopes for
  • Jesperi Kotkaniemi C
  • Colin White C
  • Oscar Lindblom W
  • Kenny Agostino W
We have some players we expect to make the roster the season after..
  • Lias Andersson C (1st rd with NYR)
  • Isac Lundestrom C 1st rd with ANA)
We also have highly rated prospects in positions that take some time to get in to the HFNHL
  • Nils Lundqvsit D (1sr rd by NYR)
  • Calen Addison D (point per game in WHL)
  • Max Gildon D (point per game in NCAA)
We are reviewing our draft strategy as our lower picks are not getting drafted by NHL squads.

We are looking forward to our two first round selections and two second round selections in this upcoming draft.

We plan on resigning
  • Colton Sissons C
  • Ondřej Kaše F
  • Patrick Nemeth D
  • Antoinne Rousell F
  • Kevin Gravel D
All this means is we are open for business to accept high salary garbage in exchange for other teams prospects or draft picks. We will also consider trading lower picks for exclusive access to upcoming expensive free agent dmen.

I hope this post sees you well.

Lots to like about the Canes’ future, starting with one of the best players in the league (young or otherwise) lining up at first line center.

Playing the salary game a while longer won’t hurt - it’ll be soon enough that your stars are pushing you to a cap crunch, so enjoy this brief window!
