Carolina is looking for a defenseman? I don't buy it.

fully concur
only thing I don't understand is why no willingness to bite on a guy like NY's Strome, who is expiring, but has RFA rights? Even if NY throws in small sweetener, is he not worth a 2nd?
He would not solve all yr problems, and there is no guarantee he performs as well down there as he has up here w/Panarin. However, chemistry is a very fragile and surprising thing, not easy to predict.

At right price, reward = risk.
combo deal w/Skjei

Why is Skjei available?

Best time to do it when Weber is potentially out longterm? Why?
Cause this season is lost, no point hoping for a miracle when all it’s going to do is give us a worse draft pick. We are not making the playoffs. If Weber is truly out long term then next season is a write off too, might as well take this opportunity to rebuild

And who is going to help the young players develop when they are pinned in their own zone 75% of the time? You still need to develop these young players and having guys like Petry in the fold help that effort. You don't just jettison all your top-end D-men and cripple your player development. This isn't a video game.

That’s not a question you leave to answer when your D are 32 & 34 is the problem. Same thing they did with Markov, should’ve traded him when he was 35 but they had nobody so lost him for nada. Habs fail at player development and fail at succession planning.
