IMO Dumba us the perfect fit for Carolina right now. He can replace (somewhat) Hamilton’s loss offensively, while being a bit more aggressive defensively. IMO Dumba for a first in the (20-30) range is very fair. He does have term left though, so that could pose cap issues.

Easy answer? Because he won't be re-signing here, and if we could flip him, or the assets we get for him, into a more D 1st guy with term....it would be a step ahead.

Not pushing any trade, but if you are looking for offense from the blueline, and can partner him with a solid D partner? He'd be a decent target.

How many do you think we have?

Gardiner has struggled this season and TVR hasn’t been his usual self returning from injury. Edmundson started the season well but has regressed back to his bottom pairing self. Add in the fact that we lost Hamilton who was having the second best season for a defenceman in the league and we now need to add.

Sev/Mont are maybes
Risto can be a turnover machine, not worth it.

Slightly overpriced but nice term, great skater, shows D ability, just needs consistent partner, system.

For a 1st or w/+ for 1st + works, Rangers want cap relief.
