Re-tool, absolutely. I would like to see what some of these players can do under a different coach before going into full rebuild. Montour, Kase, and Ritchie for example have spent their entire NHL careers playing under Carlyle.

The firing had to be done. Not sure about the GM taking over, but it makes sense since you don’t want to disrupt their AHL team and development this year by moving up their coach and why pay for two coaches with about 25 games or so to go. It seems weird but the right move for Anaheim.

If they want to tank.. promote Dallas Eakins.

20-6 assumes 91 points is enough to get in, that being said while going 20-6 is possible for any team to do in a 26 game stretch during the season, the odds of doing it your next 26 games are slim. Basically no room for error

Ducks have been a well run organization and circumstances just caught up with them. Perry and others are aging and with contracts that will be hard to unload. I think the D can be good and Gibson is a talent for sure. But they are better off rebuilding now.
