Darren Helms contract wasnt his 2nd contract. It also eats two years of UFA.

His deal pays him $1.75m in his RFA years. I wouldn't be shocked to see Hagelin near that. I'm still expecting closer to $1.5m, but $1.75m isn't unreasonable.

i want to think he's going to be a 50 point winger but i'm not so sure. he is fast and tenacious but i worry that some of his scoring success came when he was new to the league. it's possible he caught opponents off-guard with better speed and tenacity than expected. if i remember correctly, a lot of his scoring was on broken plays. so i do question whether he'll be as effective going forward. but he is a talented guy and i certainly hope he develops into a 50 point winger. that'd be great on any of the top three lines.

Agree. I really like the way he plays. I don't want to call his production last year lucky, but it would be a mistake to use his numbers from last season to set the pace for this season. I would go so far to say that he is more likely to have it down year than a breakout year.
