Also, I noticed that when I don't post my usual "Just ****ing win please" before the game, they seem to win and sometimes play a great game in the process. Clearly I won't be doing this tomorrow, as they hopefully have finally understood the message.

I've actually wondered why you kept that up for so long when as far as superstitions go, that one didn't seem to be paying off. Hopefully the new superstition will lead to all the victories.

But speaking of superstitious stuff that doesn't really matter, don't you have a really good record with GDT's Bub? I feel like I remember that, but you seem to often get skipped over when it comes time for the next GDT.

We are also very vulnerable as we keep falling for this abusive relationship. (In ref the 'Canes)

LOL, yeah. The Canes are like a big, drunken strapping guy who is all like "I'm sorry baby, I'll never kick the dogshit out of you 6 nights in a row again...oh, I didn't mean it. I love you, here's a win. Kiss, kiss. Oh, here's another win. Ahh, f*** that shit, you dumb bitch! He's another 4 losses upside your head, you stupid twat! AHAHAHA, you know you deserve it!"

Figures I blew this game off and then check in and found out it was 3-0. Maybe that's the technique from here on out.

Did not miss Nordy one bit.

Basically the only 8 forwards that I want to see back next season are Aho, Staal, Skinner, Williams, Turbo, Lindy, McGinn, and Wallmark. Though I don't have a hate on for Rask the way some people do, I just want to see him moved in a deal to get back another top line forward if at all possible.

Figure Necas and McLovin can fill 2 of those 4 slots easily (#3C and bottom line wing) then go out and get another top line player in UFA/quantity for quality trade, and bring in some more speed for the 4th line (Stalberg want return a Caroline?).

They have 3 games in hand and a very easy calendar throughout March. We have to go get the Devils if we want to go to the playoffs and they have a harder schedule.

Yeah, that's the rub and why losing two against NJ recently really hurts. Philly's pretty much a lock. So it's down to 2 spots between the CLB, NJ, Canes, Florida, and NYI.

I think Florida gets one of those 2 spots as they are playing great, Barkov is in beast mode, and have better goaltending than everyone but CLB (although, Schneider coming back could change that). It's a tall order. The Canes pretty much HAVE to win the two games against NJ to make a dent in the 7 points we are behind them.

jordan staal's leave of absence was the canes-est thing that could have happened considering the timing

such a shitty situation all around for him and the team, glad he had a chance to recover. hopefully the team can rally around him at this point and go on a large winning streak

we know that won't happen, but it is a nice thought

Having 3 games in hand isn’t as bad as it sounds when we’re talking about the .500 teams. Most likely, Florida gets 3 points out of those 3 games and ends up neck-and-neck with Columbus too.

The question is, do the Canes completely **** the bed here, or do they bounce back and balance this losing streak with a few wins? Early March is a tough schedule for us, but late March is not (EDM, ARI, NYR, OTT x 2) and we have multiple games against NJD and one against FLA left. There’s an open window still there to be climbed through, without needing help from other teams.

But they have to win the stinkin’ games. Enough of this 1-win/3-loss pattern. They need to be over .500 going forward or they’re going to look like a bunch of dicks for throwing away this opportunity.

If Florida was playing like CLB, Carolina, NYI, etc...right now, then I'd say the games in hand aren't as important like Tarheel mentioned, but they aren't. They are 10-3 since February 1st. Now the counter is they aren't that good and things will even out, but we've seen teams get on runs at the end of the season and keep it up, so I don't think they'll fade.

I don’t think they will fade, but I don’t for 1 minute believe they are going to finish 16-5 either. I think they are a lot more likely to finish something like 12-8-1. Now that would still force the Canes to go 12-5-1 which they aren’t going to do, but that’s 91 points. If you aren’t getting to 91 points you have no business in the playoffs anyway.
