I get that it's an an AHL deal i'm saying it's pointless because neither guy has any chance to impact the teams

Except AHL teams need players too. McKeown and Sellgren are playing overseas, Bean is on the Taxi squad, and Forsling was claimed by Florida, so the Canes are left with only 1 player (Keane) under contract to play in the AHL. Yes, Chicago Wolves will have an AHL guy or two (or get some guys from Milwaukee), but it's not pointless in that they need AHL players.
