Giving up on Skjei hurts and he don't really have anyone to replace him now, but if we can use his salary to sign TDA and maybe even Strome i'm all for it.

Going to be disappointing when this falls through. I don't see Canes taking him for what they ask in return.

1. Don't toy with me.

2. I called it, and have been saying we should repurpose his salary for over a year.
I wouldn't be so vainglorious about it, except a vocal few have to disparage my assessment of talent.

3. We can go a couple of ways here.
Give up our 2020 3rd and take back a 1st.
Or take back our 2020 2nd + Canes and Sabes 2020 3rds

I would like to see us do
Skjei 5.25 per + NYR 2020 3rd + OTT 2021 4th + Huska
for
either 2020 1st + return NYR 2nd + cap dumps
TVR 2.3 expiring + any other acceptable cap pref exp

4. Once Gardiner is flipped, CAR will be better moving ahead.

Rangers got it half right by dealing Skjei. Should have dealt Kreider as well and re-signed him in the offseason. It's been done many times before.

WOW! Thank god!

Sorry Canes, but he started off good in his career but the last 2 years, especially this year he is a complete dumpster fire. Literally zero hockey smarts. Just keep him on the second pair however and away from the other teams top players and he will be ok.

Should be a nice 20 or so overall pick.

Carolina looks to be going all-in, teams looks pretty solid, think they're the team this deadline that improved the most and look to be cup-bound.

Put him on the 2nd pairing with a stay-at-home d-man and I think he'll be worth his contract.

Real good skater, good at finding open spaces due to it. Not very good at defending. Lacks the hockey smarts to play on the first pairing.

Let him run and gun and he'll do well. Just insulate him with a Hjalmarsson type of d-man IMO.
