So in your opinion icing the puck is mildly dumb? IMO that is collosally dumb.
Sure once in a while somone will have plenty of time and ice it for no reason but the vast majority of time they did it for a reason, such as trying to make a pass, which they missed, trying to get it out under pressure, but just over cooking it a little bit, or just getting it out under a lot of pressure when it doesn't matter where it goes because you just need to regroup badly. These are common, many times a day occurances in a hockey game and outside of doing it for no reason not a dumb play.
That icing was mildly dumb. Not all are, but that one was. He had time and passed it to a vacant wing without looking first.
