Pre season game number 3. The cup champs come to hand us our first pre season loss? Can team Grind + Svech = Success?

Find out more tonight at 7:30!

A few things, if you donate you can get 2 free lower level tickets to the game, so do that if you can.
Chip Alexander has already stated the lineup will look similar to pre season game number 2 plus Svechnikov.

Word around PNC is that this is pretty close to opening night roster. They consider this a dress rehearsal for a decent sized Friday crowd with a few tweaks (Bean for TVR - edit: Bean may be scratched). I’d guess Ned vs Darling isn’t included in that and possibly Mrazek will play the whole game.

Anyone wanna see Niskanen get jobbed? The caps have dominated us partly through intimidation the last 6 years.....ignore their skill :)
always, f***ing hate that guy.

Either Ferland hurt last minute or they want another look at Wallmark.

Most likely the later. Likely want to see how he'll look playing in a 4th line type role.

That's an exciting development, to the extent that preseason competition for the 4th line can be exciting. If he were to take the 4th line spot, Wallmark would be the first guy we've drafted and developed into that role in quite some time. Thinking back, in the past few years we've gone out and acquired Kruger/Jooris, McClement, Nash, Malhotra, Brent, Yelle... did Sutter start at 4C before that? Actually now that I think about it, was it Brind'Amour?

Anyway, it's been a lot of guys and none of them stuck in the role, so it would be nice to actually have someone step in there and specialize there effectively for more than 1 or 2 years.

Have to go all the way back to CAds (and he didn't play center until he got to Pittsburgh) and Craig MacDonald. Last 2 that had a real shot at it were Chaput and Nick Dodge.

edit: Byron Ritchie as well, didn't realize he was drafted by Hartford/Carolina, just that he had played here.

Another reason Wallmark might be getting another look is that he’s really the only viable center in the system should Aho or Necas struggle (or Martinook for that matter). With Rask out, there’s A limit to what in game adjustments RBA can do. I don’t think Wallmark is much more than a 4th loner, but he is a true center.

Is this an early hot taek as a joke? Or do you really feel this way?

Do you really think Mrazek is an improvement? Hes so bad that I used to literally always bet against the Red Wings when he started.

What on this team has improved? Granted, skinner might be addition through subtraction.

So much for turning a corner after all the front office changes...
