Make my day.
According to Bob Murray.

The players may have opted to use none of the escalator this season, which means the cap may be 80M, not the 81.5-82M as believe the last couple of days.

There was no movement because GM’s aren’t sure where it will fall.

Was just a matter of time until the players did this. There is a good number getting 10 mil plus and they think the teams will find $ to continue this.

I mean, something wonky is going on. The cap has never been announced this late.

Last year, there were 16 players traded on Draft Friday, this year, 0.

So is it all that surprising it may turn out to only go up 500K lol

I mean, if it was actually 81.5-82M, and it just needed to be confirmed, why would there be so much hesitancy?

Perhaps it’s not actually 81.5-82, and more like 80-82M

So are league officials in some little office counting and rolling pennies or something?
In a computer age, why would it take so long to calculate revenue?
Are they trying to add in merchandise sales from day one of the draft to boost the numbers some tiny amount?
