Recalled/Assigned: Canucks place D Guillaume Brisebois on waivers for purpose of assignment to Abbotsford

Not usually great news to see a guy on waivers, but - this hopefully means he's symptom free and able to resume practicing and playing, which is fantastic news for him. Hope he stays healthy.

He makes 375K in the AHL this year and is signed next year with a minors salary of 775K, there's absolutely no way he is touched considering he's recovering from a serious concussion.

Awesome for him that this seems to indicate he's getting healthy again.

Icing on that cake is if he can pick up where he left off and help Abby in their playoff push.

Some good news for the Abbotsford Canucks......it's like going out and acquiring another veteran d-man at the trade deadline. Brisebois is experienced, knows the system, and is basically a 'plug and pay' veteran the blueline desperately needs.

As well, Matt Irwin is back in Abbotsford......and if D-Petey arrives from Sweden and Wolanin is back, suddenly there's a ton of depth on the back-end.

Dan Murphy and Sportsnet Pacific did a recent feature on Brisebois......his concussion systems were so serious for a time, he was seriously wondering if his career was over.

But going to a different concussion specialists basically turned his season around. Hope he can stay healthy and productive in Abbotsford. But I guess concussions will always be a constant concern.
