Disappointing turn of events at the end of last game, but as the saying goes, better to be pissed off than pissed on

Some do not like the retro jerseys, but other fashion styles have been worse

Our Boys will likely be chasing McDavid around the ice tonight

Hopefully we can keep him to the outside

and contain him

Of course they have the reigning Art Ross winner as well who you can’t turn your back upon
4188D194-5A49-4F98-80BE-945EB460D74E.gif

So our Team will need to be aware at all times to counter-attack

I’m guessing Demko starts and he’ll need to be extraordinary

And our Offence will need to get the lead and, as a Team deliver

to break the Oilers winning streak & our losing run.

Shoutout to @WTG for his food fetish. Be prepared to share what you’re eating tonight:)

The lads will do their best but
Benn and Edler are getting long in the tooth, Edler is getting meaner but still they are slower.
Hughes is too damn small to check Drasaitl.
There aren't enough defensive defencemen.
Juloevi hasn't looked out of place, that is bad because this is not a good defence group. But he tries and on CDC they would give him pages of slaps on the back, anything to divert from the teams crushing defeats. And as hard as they are trying 3-2 is crushing
Horvat is starting to lose hope after 7 years on not succeeding and then having to apologize after every game for things he cannot change, like the team is good but just playing badly.
Media should start realizing that this is a bad team, as a group put together, that has great games every now and then.
It is funny that the media keeps asking how to fix the team, "what do you have to do", "What went wrong?", "How is it in the room?"
They are asking the wrong person, even Green can't answer those questions, the whole world can see these guys are as good as they get and players and coaches do not change the players on a team.

BTW
This should not be the same group next year.
This team should be looking at a tear down just before the TDL to stock up on picks and prospects so they have room to take on players through the expansion draft.
The team need not spend tons buying out Erisksson, Retention on Sutter's expiring contract, Pearson to get added value in return and ? would leave the team with a full cap hit to fill at the end of the season. Indeed they would save some money.

This game will be interesting to watch, McDavid has put it into stardrive his 5 point game literally looked like he was playing against, Vancouver, er oops, I mean, Bantam players. He just looked like the best player I have seen play since some of Orr's. There was Orr/McDavid and then everyone else, not even close.

This could be Mr. Aquilini's straw, 7-2 Oilers

Love to see Benn, Myers, Edler leave their side to blow up Connor. The only tome Connor has his head down is when he does his hoop around a barrel to a d man. Perfect time fir the off side d to “Scott Stevens” Connor. Won’t even see the train.

Wow. Epic GDT. An effort probably no doubt greater than one we'll see on the ice. ;)

For some reason I'm not too pessimistic about this one. Squeaker either way. 2-1, 3-2 with a late score kind of thing. My psychic premonition aided only by a Yanni cd and a bucket of margaritas.

Came here to say this. gingerpaps for MVP, holy cow.

Shatner Panties. I will never not laugh when I hear that. omg, gp, you'r killing me.

Pls no OT. McDrai's gonna score before the Canucks D are back in their own zone after faceoff. On the bright side, I think there is a 50/50 chance to beat them in regulation. I just want to see some good plays by the top 6 to be happy. (And MacEwen. He's earned that spot. Pretty please coach.)

May not be possible. UFA cap savings: Pearson, Sutter, Edler, Benn, Hamonic, Sven, Spooner. Total cap hit (less the $1 mill saved on Sven being on the taxi) is about $20.5 million. Currently, only 5 of these guys occupy a roster spot. So, if they are replaced with $1 million players, like Rathbone, Lockwood, Podkolzin and vets that frees up $14.5 mill. Need to sign key RFA in Petey, Hughes, Demko. Demko in under $3 mill like Blackwood. So, he takes away around $1.5-$1.8 mill of that cap space. Leaving under $13 mill to split between Petey and Hughes. If one is an $8 mill and the other a $7 mill cap hit, then there's really no more cap space to add an upgrade.

Thus, they need to move their UFAs this season for draft picks and then look into flipping those picks with a bad contract like Eriksson to free up cap space. Only way to get an upgrade over the current roster, barring a Miller trade. I'd add Virtanen to the list of guys that the team should move off.

If they haven't done so the past 6 years...I know they certainly won't this year.

Hopefully, its a good game.Their last half dozen or so, have been..Canucks have to find that killer instinct, and put teams away...I thought that the Canucks controlled about 85% of the last game, and were unlucky not to have more than 2 goals, for which they had the majority of the game.

I'm assuming Demko's in net.

Great GDT , as always GP.

Just got back from my game day morning run.

Yup. Ran the Hellcat over to the adult candy store to get tonight’s drink of choice. The Cat needed to stretch her legs.
