What would you guys think about a Ballard/Booth swap for David Jones?

Heck, I'd probably trade both of them for him. Not that he is the greatest ever, but it would solve a potential buy out situation in the offseason, and add a decent piece at the same time (who is admittedly struggling this year).

Having said that, if we are looking at a longer playoff run, having lots of capable defenders is not a bad thing at all.

In a similar vein, just how strong of a possession team would you have to be in order to not need any more game breakers than we already have?

And would it even matter when we struggle to create more chances the way we do?

This team when healthy is loaded with good ES players. When is it "enough" that your roster shouldn't be coming into question anymore?

If we could be even half way decent on the PP, a lot of our worries are addressed. If not, we're screwed, because teams will have no fear of manhandling us. Kesler coming back should help enormously in this regard (I hope).

you dont really need more gamebreakers unless you're a bad team. people seem to view the cup as some sort of summit that once you reach, now you're A Cup Team and it's a foregone conclusion that you either lose to another Cup Team or you were really a big faker

when its more like, you're a team that has x% to win the cup and either thats good enough because you can sustain that level of competitiveness over a long period of time, or you want to add y% to get (x+y) in exchange for some of competitiveness later. getting a gamebreaker is a great way to increase your chances of winning a cup but its not like we NEED one to have a chance of winning it

adding another good hockey player is a great way to not have to pay for a gamebreaker in exchange for getting a less than y% gain. there really isn't a hump to overcome

last year King got into the playoff with the lowest GF of all playoff teams only team that never got 200 GF

Kings went from scoring around 2. something goals a game to 3.125 when they acquired Jeff Carter. Would adding Kesler cause a similar effect? no.. but adding another forward + Kesler would imo
