Canucks assistant GM Laurence Gilman's future uncertain

The NTC/NMC issue is overblown. Who would actually exercise their NTC and refuse trades anywhere, basically demand to remain a Canuck? Luongo used his to get a trade to Florida, and he paid for his lack of flexibility by having a media storm swirl around him for 2 years. If the team wants the player gone, he's not going to stick around. Sure he'll use his NTC to dictate his choice of destinations, but in exchange for that nuisance we got the player at a lower cap hit.

It's overblown by some no doubt, but they certainly do hamper ability to move players. Some players WAY more than others. But being a team constantly pushing out players with NTCs doesn't exactly look good for a franchise.

Hope he stays, but I wouldn't be surprised he walked if he isn't given the GM job.

So yeah...That happened...Guess nobody would do that.

Now that the draft is over I wouldn't mind seeing Gilman get the ax. Wasn't he Gillis' chief contract negotiator?
