So Bruce isn’t blind and can see it but why does he keep playing him on offensive lines and PP then???
It literally makes no sense

-doesnt have to do it to make the GM look good
-chaisson is slow
-bad hands
-not creative

Not seeing any appeal here esp as the PP seems to be firing quite well without a nuckledragger in front of the net banging away

No excuses this game..Team is relatively healthy, and they are rested.....As terrible as Halak was last game, the rest of the team wasn't very good either ..(notably, the top 6 forwards).

8 assists at 5v5 this season

Loui Eriksson and Travis Boyd each have 11 assists at 5v5 this season
He's on pace for about 8-10 less 5v5 pts as per usual. Team speed and scoring has been an issue and his role has changed with Dickinson unable to hold down a C position and Sutter being a useless signing. He's a solid NHLer but it's concerning with his age and contract status

His skating is the biggest concern for me as he's never been a great playmaker or defensive player. Took him almost 20 games to get going this year and he's a notorious slow starter which says something about his preparation and dedication to improvement. The rumblings from coaching management and guys like Jannik Hansen who are connected into the team with the Sedins has been that practice prep and i would say off season training is a big issue for this group.

Has to be some tough questions about Bo and his future here and how he fits especially being the captain

It is just another game closer to the end of the season, that's' all.

There is not going to be any adding to this group.

The decisions have already been made, they are just waiting to enact the plan.

Comments about what the players would think if they traded away top players now combined with all the trade chatter kind of point towards the plan and to an enactment of the plan starting soon.

They just have to wait for some teams to end up with some cap space, closer to the TDL.

All that they have done since Bruce and the team is still in 6th instead of 7th but with 30 games less and out by up to 7 points depending upon the outcome of tonight's games with other teams still having games in hand.

Comparing Barzal to Pettersson will be interesting just because of the cap hits and expected skill levels. Will Petey control the play or be as impactful as Barzal?

Watch Dobson, he could be a trade asset NYI would move.

Score? Does it matter? NYI win

what in blue hell, why would they trade Dobson?

He's a former 1st round pick who just turned 22 RHD with side 6-4 and is producing offensively.
yeah, I really don't get why Dobson gets brought up at all, I've seen his name thrown around on HF and it makes zero sense.

There's things I would do for Dobson that are not talked about in polite circles such as this but there's no reason for the Islanders to trade him and there's nothing the Canucks could offer that would entice the Islanders to deal him.

This about the game but Lamoriello likes vets. He let Tavares go for nothing, traded a bushel basket for Pageau, Quennville and a 2nd for 37 yr old Greene, he just has a history of trading youth for vets, he makes it work, when he trades youth for vets he buys training time and experience. Dobson just fits into the age group

The right deal including OEL, Boeser, Garland?

Still that stuff is for a different thread

Want to see Dries get called up and given 3rd line duty.
29 goals for him for the baby cancucks.

Time to see what he can do in the show.

I'm looking at Canuck games as a mental break from the tragedy in Europe.

It helps for the team to have a goal to strive for (playoffs), even if reality is staring them in the face. The hole they've tried to dig out of since Dec. 6th is about to swallow them up. I give the guys credit for trying. Hope that Hogs plays with Petey tonight and busts his slump.
