Rathbone looks to be in a bit tough on the Harvard roster this season. Ten D are listed on it, 7 of them shooting L including him.
The good news is that 3 of the 7 LD are seniors, while the other 4 are a sophomore and fellow freshmen whom he could possibly beat
out for at least the second unit PP this year or next. Adam Fox and Reilly Walsh (who was in the Showcase I believe) shoot right,
and they no doubt will run the two PP units on that side. Just stat-scouting, it looks like there's some comparatively dead wood
offensively among the L side upperclassmen, so a super-skating puck mover like Rathbone may be able to work his way into
some decent ES and PP minutes even as a freshman. But it also looks like this year he wets his feet in the NCAA, and next year
Rathbone gets a chance at being the main offensive D on the left side . . . if all goes well.
