At least RBA saying in the presser that they probably won’t be going back to the original lines tonight...

No one expects Svech to carry a line, he's not ready for that, but he's a goal scorer. The goal he scored tonight doesn't happen if it's most any other forward not named Aho, TT, or maybe Ferland trying that deflection. He and Slavin are the reason they got a point. The Canes came alive after that.

Give him ice time, and talent and let's see what happens. They have literally nothing to lose, they are losing anyway.

Not that I disagree with your overall point, but this roster was built in such a way that management must have expected Svechnikov to be able to do just that. The lack of an offensive driver in the middle-6 is painfully obvious. It makes you wonder if the FO is having seller's remorse over Skinner right now.

I really don't think they expected that from Svech. They expected Rask to be in the line up, and Necas to be ready. If even one of those 2 things happen (much less both), I think the outcome is different. Svech is a goal scorer right now. Today. He doesn't have to be a leader. They need goals. Get him on a line with Aho, or Staal and let him spread his wings a bit. I mean he can't turn the puck over, or be more inept than Williams. I love Williams, but he doesn't belong on a second line anymore. He didn't last year either.

I have a feeling that Teräväinen having his own line will be a good thing for now. Maybe he could get more out of Wallmark too. And maybe Foegele could play on that line. Although Foegele made 4th line wake up and play.

6am flight tomorrow morning so I won't be staying up for another 50 shot effort.

The good news is this team has never lost in Vegas before. Unlike many places a victory there can happen.

    Just ****ing win please

What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas.. If it did no way the VGK's win their division last year :P Hard to do well in the league when half your games don't count..

I disagree about what they expected. They seemed to make it clear to me that they expected Svech and Necas to step right in and replace a good chunk of what we lost in the off season. I know you only said Svech but to me they’ve been trying to package the two of them the whole time.

I agree Svech doesn’t have to be a leader, just a contributor if we’re following the off season plan.

I doubt we have regrets about the off season, but that’s because honestly Dundell is a bit arrogant and would never say anything else other than what we are now is better than what we were yesterday.

I personally will struggle with the Skinner move, but I’ve suspended judgement on the big trade. We got good stuff, it really depends on if we can keep our good stuff.

Maybe that's what they were selling, but I have doubts they thought a couple of teens would replace Skinner and Lindholm right away. I know Rod has been clear and direct on Necas and Svech from the beginning, about the process, and the ups and downs of young players. He's not sugar coating it. It's the owners job to sell his product, not provide doubt for fans.

For whatever reason they decided to move Skinner, and I was ok with that move then, and still am. They were clear they wanted a team that was tougher to play against, more team oriented, moved as one. Skinner is the anti-team member. He's a one man show, and that's great but it didn't fit into their vision of the future, plus we have no idea what Skinner's camp was asking for, and/or if he even wanted to stay. Maybe that was all clear back then, I can't remember. I'm not sure why you think Dundon is arrogant, to me that's not even close to accurate, but to each his own.

I'm not saying Dundon is without fault, I just think he & co. made some solid moves, and the team is doing pretty well despite hitting a bit of a slump at the moment. This team is still much more entertaining to watch than last years product. Just my opinion.

Skinner is playing well with Eichel, and had another two points today. I’ve always found the “Skinner is a one man show only” to be bunk, and you can watch it be proven wrong right now if you’ve got nhl Game Center.

Skinner needed someone, anyone to be good enough to play off of him and then he’d share the puck just fine like he is right now.

He wasn’t the problem. I get we wanted change and for some reason Skinner was the face of it. Faulk was too but we didn’t get what we wanted and now he’s a rebranded core member. I think the same could’ve happened with Skinner, but maybe without a stud to play him with he wouldn’t have been any better.

In the end, you’re right. We didn’t know what he wanted for money, and he may not have even wanted to re sign. It’s tough giving him away for very little just to watch him star for someone else, when we could’ve at least gotten a better deal at the deadline. Still, we’re a different team now and I’m happy for him with Eichel.

May TVMFR shine his grace on our Bolts and Canes. May he bless me on this, my wedding day. May he give us plenty of goals for, taketh away our goals against. By TVMFR's love and intangibles... Bless us all.

Good luck out there Carolina Bros.

You're right he wasn't a one man show only, but he went through periods where he literally would try and do everything himself. He would lose the puck, get run over, etc etc. It's where he got the reputation from, but at times he would do that and score in bunches. I'm happy for him, and Lindholm. Losing Lindholm was my only issue with the trades, because I actually thought he fit our vision, and was probably going to break out eventually. You never know though, a change of scenery is from the looks of it what they both needed, and you'd have to pry Ferland from cold dead hands. I love that guy. That sounds a little creepy.

Somehow I instantly think of a scene with a car parked outside the town in middle of desert and someone whose already badly beaten up being given a shovel and made to dig his own grave.

We'd break the shovel and end up having to dig it by hand.

We would die before successfully digging our own grave.

    We even fail at failing.
