I mean, I assume CMac won’t just keel over and die at game #30. Any way you slice his numbers they are better than Mrazek’s. Even if a heavier load takes a toll on him, he’s likely to end up with better numbers at the end of the day.

There's a disconnect between the reality of nobody trying to trade for Mac and him being on waivers, and starting 15 games a season, and never being a #1 despite being 35, and your contention that he's a decent option to be the Canes #1.

Obviously he’s not a desirable #1. In a context where we completely struck out on the UFA market, have no prospect ready to make the jump, won’t move on from Darling, and evidently cannot find a trade partner, he’s probably a better option for the other goalie slot than Mrazek.

If you put these guys’ last two years side by side, and their first games with the Canes side by side, one looks considerably more worth the risk than the other.

There is no way I’m waiving McSavior after what he did Friday for us and how he looked last year for the Leafs.

There is no way I’m waiving one of Darling or Mrazek and counting on the other to be a full time starter, or counting on McCareerBackup to become a 40+ game starter at 35 years old.

Good thing we can carry 23 players on the roster.
