Best October in a long time.

Based just on point totals through 9 games, this is our best start since 2013-2014 which saw us with a 4-2-3 record. Best overall 9-game starts in franchise history were 2005-2006 (6-2-1, 13 pts) and 2007-2008 (5-1-3, 13 pts). If anyone's interested. Playoff seasons are in bold, too:

Was that the year we had the win and your in game against the Panthers, whom we had something like a 14 game home wining streak against them, and lost?

Not only that, but we had come back from multiple goals down, multiple times against them that season. No reason we should have lost it.

Hell, the game before, we absolutely trashed Tampa Bay, putting up a 6 spot on them (though I believe Tampa was resting their players by that point).

Can't believe we miss playoffs in the 2007/2008.

I'm still mad I had to go get a refund for the playoff package I purchased a few days before. But at least I was in town that weekend so it wasn't all bad I guess.

(no, it sucked ****)

Chalk it up to karmic retribution for 1979-1980, maybe?

Looking forward to Roy. Of the AHL centers (wallmark/bishop/roy), Roy seems like the one that might have real top 9 talent. May end up being nothing as well, but it feels like there's a chance he could come in and do some damage. Also seems like a much better fit with Zykov and McGinn than Necas or Bishop stylistically.

Digging the '2 games to earn a spot' deal that Brindy seems to be employing. Has to be exciting for these kids to have opportunities like this early in the season. Checkers are going to be crushing folks all year knowing that the big club is paying close attention, and rewarding the top players with NHL games.

This Bojangles-restaurant seems to be quite a popular topic here. Is it truly a major factor in the life of the people of North Carolina?
You’re goddamn right

Have you never had a cajun filet chicken biscuit combo?

I had one for lunch yesterday. It was f***ing awesome.

I will never forget that game. Craig Anderson played out of his freaking mind. They had the "jersey off your back" promotion right after the game and the looks on the Canes players' faces while doing that were indescribable. Wretched is the only word I can come up with. Baffled, disappointed, angry, verge of tears, aghast... all these and more

18 of the top 19 Corsi differential players in the league (an accepted measure of 5v5 dominance) are playing in Friday's CAR vs SJ game. Highly interesting dataset.
