when's the last time he broke a trade?

Pretty sure he ( Danny dubbé) was the one on the Subban trade or the Radulov in Mtl.
he is rarely wrong, and this morning on the radio most of other analysts said they heard from their source too that he was probably dealt to LA tonight.

A signed 35 goal scorer in his prime is worth a top prospect and a first round pick. That would be Vilardi and 20th. If you have reservations about pacioretty’s ability to score than what are you even doing trying to acquire him. It’s clear there’s discussions here between LA and MTL and it’s also clear people haven’t the slightest clue what he’s worth
Asks St. Louis for Thomas-nope
Asks Florida for Borgstrom-nope
Asks LA for Vilardi-nope

Considering he's the Habs PbP guy, he's traveling with the team all the time and very rarely breaks story I'd say his credibility is pretty damn high.

We don't even know if the rumor is credible. Two Kings insiders have said it's not true and even talk to Patches agent. No other credible sources are reporting this rumor.Blakes not trading Vilardi or Clague good luck.

Assuming negotiations are happening, do you have any C level prospects to offer for our 30+ goal scorer?

Clague is not enough for a signed Pacioretty. I know it's like a fun game to undervalue habs players around here but sometime it's borderline ridiculous how people undervalue habs players.
Agreed. Seeing people balk at trading a mid 1st (or less) for Pacioretty is just plain absurd.

Signed is different.

LA has a recent bad history of trading firsts for guys that did not re-sign.

LA is up against the cap and in need of young talent on ELCs.

Maybe the reason many Kings fans don't want to squander sending young talent out.

Blake has preached youth infusion. We will see if he sticks to it.

A signed Panarin, sure take Vilardi.

Patches, streaky, disappears in playoffs, older. Could be in decline or could thrive with Kopitar. It's riskier no?

I would still not trade Clague or Vilardi for Patches signed or not.

People are balking cause we can't afford a 30 year old soon to be UFA nor would I trade for Patches regardless. To old and cap issues.Maybe if he was 4 or five years younger sure then you make room.

ya but your winning window is open for 2-3 years MAX. you have a good team in place but you need a goal scorer big time ( the series VS Vegas was painful to watch..)

Vilardi is off the table absolutely for me.

Losing JAD or Clague would hurt. 20OA as well. I prefer to lose Clague out of the two.

I most prefer Kovalchuk for free.

Tavares is linked loosely to LA as well-pipedream I know.

Skinner is great but Carolina are not good trade partners.

Max has been a consistent scorer for years. The question is will he rebound from last year?

He could possibly score 40 goals playing with Kopi. I would hope it's a three to four year contract at most.

I think a lot of people complaining about the balking at value aren't recognizing the Kings' situation and needs.

It's not so much "lol Patches sucksssss" as it is we're in a spot where we can't afford to give up blue chip cost controlled talent for a year of a player approaching his 30s.

With an extension it's a different conversation, but it's still one in which I believe at least Vilardi is off the table, given our forward cupboard is barren. Clague, JAD, whatever, they'd all be game I'm sure.

I still think that is overblown. Yes the team as a whole needed to bury their chances.

Vegas scored seven total goals that series.

My comment wasn't directed specifically towards Kings fans, rather it was meant generally. I understand that he may not be the right fit for the Kings. Too many people bash him and make him out to be crap.

I agree that Vilardi would be a hard piece to give up, and almost certainly isn't on the table.

I hope no ones thinks I'm thinking Patches sucks,no,he's a great player, just not the right fit for the assets Montreal would want.I wouldn't give up Vilardi or Clague for Patches. Some else like Brodz and our first sure.Im not sold on a 30 year old soon to be UFA cashing in on his next contract on a Kings team hurting for cap space.
