Experience and track record a large component of my vote. Crosby & co on Canada have won at every level on the big stage and dominated.
Malkin/OV have generally never meshed well, in contrast, and underachieved.

Well team Canada has John Tavares so that makes them a good team but on the the other hand team World has Auston Matthews so that makes them good as well hmmmm.... I'll use Rielly as the tie breaker and vote for the leafs um I mean Canada.

Split Malkin and OV and team World takes it.

Canada's D would be better if you replace Keith and Weber with Burns and Vlasic. When you factor in Price and Holtby in net for Canada is probably tips in Canada's favour.

I've watched enough best on bests in my life to know that team world's first line would fail miserably.

Team World's defense and goaltending tips the scales, quite easily. 7 game series - 4-1 World.

Why did the OP give Canada such a ****ing **** defence compared to what we could actually put forward?

Nobody matches Canada’s quantity of superstar and star players. When you can throw guys like Benn and Seguin on a 4th line it’s impossible to match up against, even with Karlsson and Hedman leading the defense.

True. I wonder how well Laine, Panarin, Kuznetsov, and Pastrnak, for some, would buy into playing a depth role...

I’d say that’s moreso just Babcock’s system than anything. Not to be a dick, but I wouldn’t pat yourself on the back too hard about “players buying in” when your fourth line is better than most teams’ first.

Canada because OP got our defence wrong. If it were:

    Vlasic - Doughty
    Subban - Burns
    Rielly - Pietrangelo

    It'd be better.
