Can forwards affect SV%

There is a small but detectable effect of individual forwards on Sv%.

Just out of curiosity, I don't see any details on where the data comes from. What are we looking at exactly here? I see games played as the x axis, and Rsquared (remaining) as the y, but what are the two datasets being compared? On-ice Sv% at odd vs even seconds of the game?

My understanding is that "R^2 Remaining" is the R^2 of (On-ice Sv% in the remaining games of the season) vs (On-ice Sv% in the first x games played) for all players in a season. Emmanuel Perry is active on twitter if you have questions (@MannyElk).
