You do? I don’t.

You sit Darnold down for a week or two and let him get healthy. Remember he looked decent for a few weeks but since the injuries came at him, he has stumbled. Give the guy you just picked up his option year for 2022, at a little time to get healthy and back in it. Turn Walker into short passer and hand the ball to McCaffery for a week or two.

Instead they pay a washed up Newton a ridiculous amount of money for 8 games. It makes very little sense to me.
He is a band aid ... it will be weird for cam..awkward
Darnald might not be the answer..time will tell.

I think time has already told on Darnold, if he's the answer, you are asking the wrong question
In a lot of ways, yes you are correct,

So, this begs the question WTF are the Panthers doing? They just committed to Darnold til 2022 by taking his 5th year option, so they must have seen something they liked. It’s an 18 million dollar commitment for Darnold in 2022 and all of it is dead cap. Now another potential 10 million for 8 games on Newton, 4 of which is guaranteed. Someone doesn’t know what they are doing Carolina.

Maybe they found a bunch of old Cam jerseys in the warehouse and want to sell them at full price

The fans in this town get their wish. I'm not against the move because let's be honest, they've got nothing to lose, but 2015 Cam isn't coming back which seems to be the thinking among them. Hell even 2017 Cam is long gone.

They had to pick up the option on a certain date before the season even starting. Not doing that would have destroyed Darnolds confidence before the season even began.

And yes, they have royally screwed up the QB situation. They wanted to move on from Teddy, Stafford didn't want to come to Carolina, Watson fell into legal trouble and they fell in love with Horn at the combine and passed on Fields/Jones. Pretty bad decision making all around.

He was never the most accurate passer and now he is just done. Not like they have a contending team in the NFC this year, so I get it.

He’s likely ending where it started. Their fans would probably rather go down with him than Darnold/Barkley/whoever.

Can't believe this thread didn't get bumped on Sunday

Not that I expect him to totally turn them around, but the Panthers looked a lot better with him than with Darnold. Even if it's just a short term blip, it was a nice bit of TV.

Yeah 5 TDS in 2 games with a week and 1/2 of practice. He's done.

Honestly I'm surprised he's been this good. It's a shame the Panthers get good QB play and the defense decides to shit the bed after playing well all season.
