Interesting family legend ... my great great uncle's dog, Julian, a Mastiff, was apparently the inspiration for Jack London's Call of the Wild (book) main character. (My relative, and his wife and brother, had some very good claims in the Yukon/Klondike/Dawson City area and are in the history books. My GGU is also in the mining hall of fame. Jack London hung out in Dawson City during the Klondike Gold Rush.)
