On top of the fact that hardly anyone calls the original game "Call of Duty 4", there's the fact that that game was remastered a few years ago and the '4' was dropped. Soon, two of the most recent CoD games will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the first will actually be older than the second. What happens in 10 years when the 2019 game gets remastered? What will they call it, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Re-remastered?

I'll reserve judgement until more details are released.

First thought though: really!? ran out of ideas?

If I remember correctly Infinity Ward is the worst of the three developers so I’m weary. Ghosts stunk and didn’t like Infinite Warfare. Vince Zampella took all the talent with him.

Haven’t bought CoD in a couple years but I’m interested to see how this looks. They need to just ditch the specialist shit and get back to the craziness of MW2. Killstreaks should be OP, every gun should absolutely melt people, movement speed should be increased a little. Just a total gong show. That’s what made CoD fun to me years ago. Bring nukes back too, even if it’s just a 25 gun streak.

Well a lot of the old IW talent that left with Zampella went back to IW the last couple of years including one of the lead designer and map designer for the modern warfare games. This is also a reboot, and it's supposed to contain maps from MW2 and MW3.

I didnt think Activison and COD could get any more creatively bankrupt than they did with WW2.

I never considered they’d just straight up soft re-launch their own game.

I think we can confirm, the well is officially dry.

Sledgehammer is the one you're thinking of. Churned out three stinkers in MW3, Advanced Warfare and WWII

The entire idea behind MW2 was that "if everything is OP, nothing can be OP". It was beautiful.

I don't think I have actively played a COD game since BLOPS 2. They lost me with Ghosts. The newest offering I tried was WW2 but it was just garbage.

The nice thing is that their bad offerings have driven me to the BF franchise and it has exceeded my expectations with every release.

No Infinity Ward used to be run by the Titanfall/Apex guys before they left amidst the Activisian disagreements. Since then Infinity Ward has stunk. Ghosts is the worst COD game. I actually enjoyed WW2.
