I don't think the maps are bad in BO4 per se, I just feel like they couldn't make up their mind when they were creating the maps. They are all over the place. They pale in comparison to WWII and BO3 maps.

Pale to the WWII maps? No way, the maps that launched with WWII were ATROCIOUS. I thought that was pretty much the general sentiment. I only bought the first map pack so I dunno maybe the map packs improved things, but those maps out of the box were seriously bad.

Really? I guess I am in the minority on this one. I can't remember if I liked them or not at launch but I know they grew on me over time. London Docks is one of my favorite maps ever. I loved Carentan and Ardennes Forest. Point Du Hoc and Saint Marie Du Mont I also found to be a blast. The only map I did not like and it may well be my most hated map in COD history due to how uneven it was is Gibralter. **** that map.

Yeah it just gives that annoying "not joinable" message. Do you have an open NAT?

The last three weeks I have been playing 90% Blackout anyway. I'm addicted.

Yeah this is huge update over the next couple days. Looks forward to the Blackout stuff.

Being able to use war paints when you don't have the rest of the outfit will be good because right now the skins are friggin terrible. Easily the worst of the last few COD games. I don't get hung up too much on my character's looks but I like to modify it a bit and right now the options are straight garb. Embarrassing, really.

Though who knows if this will help but it's gotta be better than Muertos and this shade of red or a slightly darker shade of red that is barely perceptible.

love love love blackout! liking the new update as well, the blue circle of death is much faster and forces the fights to happen quicker.
hit 2nd place a few times and generally in top 10, I love how intense that final circle is!

Yeah the newest huge update has been great. The new warpaints/outfits are also greatly improved. I also like the "Fall" version of the Blackout map as it's more colourful and appealing to the eye. Guys trying to kill you with snowballs is also very lolz.

I have noticed some framerate issues in certain open areas since the update though (PS4).

Also, I think the changes to the armor made it worse. I like the idea of repairing your armor, but:

1. There is way too much armor plating available
2. The excess amount of plating is turning level 3 users into Robocop

I think level three armor just needs to be dropped. In fact, just have one armor type and make it repairable.

WW2 maps were so much better than Bo4 maps. Bo4 maps are the world base maps ever to be a CoD (excluding remakes)

Ehh. I still think that honor goes to Advanced Warfare/Infinite Warfare.

Side note - the new specialist Zero, is super OP. Needs a nerf like immediately. It renders most other specialists useless and prevents those that are useful from being used.

Yeah Zero is insanely annoying.

And again, they really need to re-work the new armor system in Blackout

whats the problem with armor?
level 3 armor is brutal to try and kill, with the head armor, but it is what it is. I love blackout.

Too much armor plating available. IMO you also shouldn't be able to pick up armour when looting a bag.

Looks like today's update is addressing some of this.
  • Level 2 and Level 3 Armor durability has been reduced to match Level 1 Armor durability.
  • Reduced the maximum amount of Armor Plates that can be stacked from 10 Armor Plates to 5.
  • Increased time required to use an Armor Plate from 2 seconds to 3.
  • Slightly increased Paladin damage against Armor to reduce the number of shots needed to take down enemies wearing Level 3 Armor.
Notes from the dev team: While we’re pleased to see Armor lasting through more than one gunfight with this redesign, we agreed that Level 2 and Level 3 Armor was a bit too durable. With the durability dialed back on these, players should be able to destroy their enemies’ Armor more frequently.

That is great! I played last night and it seemed like those walking around with Lvl 2 were much easier to kill. Armor plating is quite easy to come by though.

Agreed, but I guess it's good now that they have limited your stash to five plates.

Also, looting bags on console right now is so broken it's ridiculous.

sure is, so many glitch outs, and being stuck with its inventory list still showing.

I haven't played much black out. I keep meaning to but it never happens. Maybe once I finish Dark Matter... Just have one pistol, one shotgun and the snipers left. Hit prestige 7 last night and that is by far one of my favorite prestige emblems in COD history.

Finally was able start getting into Blackout properly in the last couple days, and I'm really, really enjoying it. I played Fortnite pretty heavily for a while ( I know, I know), so out of instinct I keep hopping around jumping anywhere I go  Its taken me a while to get used to the inventory menu and system but once you have it down, it's pretty much automatic.

I have 2 gripes about it so far. The first might just be a me thing, but I feel like weapons should be a little but more readily available. A few times dropping places like Factory, even Construction Site, and there would be instances where i'm quite literally running around for minutes trying to find a gun, and it's nothing but bandages or pistols. Again, it might just be a me thing and getting bad drop luck, but just something I noticed.

The second thing is the whole "hold to interact system". If theres one thing i'm willing to give Fortnite complete credit to, their looting system I've found is SO much smoother and quicker, and I hope Blackout adopts something similar at some point. Being able to just run over top things like bandages and ammo to collect, and just a tap to swap system I feel would work wonders in this game. This is especially apparent when you kill somebody and loot their bag. It'd be great if once you open it up, it just default gives you the ammo and bandages available, with a quick tap system to swap out items you need. My god does it ever take ages to loot somebody. Feel like it wouldn't leave you as exposed during fights in the open, or maybe i'm just salty that I've been killed a fair amount of times trying to loot up while being forced to stare at the bag menu. This all might have been available as a setting or something i'm not aware of, so maybe i'm just blind:laugh:

Either way, really digging this game overall. First COD ive picked up in a couple years so am thoroughly enjoying boots on the ground, and dont mind the longer kill time either. Self healing takes getting used to.

You can change it to 'tap' to pick up in the settings so you don't have to hold, but agreed that they whole picking up items/looting UI needs an overhaul. I'm assuming they are working on it. I definitely would like to see it automatically pick up ammo since there is no limit to the amount of ammo types you carry. Meds would be nice too I guess, but that can require a bit more inventory management depending on how much stuff you have.

I don't know, I kind of like the threat level of trying to pick apart a bag and equip the right add ons to your weapon or cycling through the ammo and zombie items. It just adds to that intensity feeling of getting sniped. I use bags as well as traps and pick people off who try to run for them .
Drop luck is for real lol, I have had long periods of time where I have nothing, I like to drop straight out and sometimes dive down and hope to hit a building with something in it for the quick kills and points too.

I agree, there should be some risk to looting a bag. But if you are just looting a building, I think walking over ammo to pick it up should be possible.

They fixed bag looting thank God.

Still getting stuck in bags with no images on ps4, as well now, when prone I end up getting stuck and the screen shakes back and forth between directions...not smooth at all. Pretty annoying. Still loving blackout, have a few wins, tonnes of top 10's. Going to cap out very soon on the tiers as well for this operation .
