Yeah I didn't want to say anything during the game, but if we had lost tonight's game, I wouldn't have been too disappointed because we were keeping pace with the Caps all night. That was as a complete game we've had for a while.

Fortunately we did come out ahead.

One of the best played games of the year.

I will say though, I think the "defensive" improvement tonight was in large part due to some timely Mike Smith saves and good defensive play by the forwards more so than the defencemen (mainly Hamonic, and Brodie). Those two things certainly covered up the deficiencies from the defencemen that I've seen over the majority of the year.

But not to be a downer, that's a massive win. I wouldn't mind Freddie staying in, that was a really good game from him.
