Bargainbin isn't in charge of the draft but okDon’t like the pick because I have 0 confidence in bargain bin but maybe he can turn into a Jason Arnott type of player.

Well, using @manny_hockey's league conversion factors(like NHLe), I'll check how Kotkaniemi compares to the top 5 forwards picked:
Andrei Svechnikov: 20.8p in 82 games
Jesperi Kotkaniemi: 19.6p in 82 games
Filip Zadina: 18.6p in 82 games
Brady Tkachuk: 10.9p in 82 games
Barrett Hayton: 12.3p in 82 games
So in that light Kotkaniemi's draft season should have been the best(at that draft slot), using his NHL conversion factors.
Yep. I'd like to know the methodology. I've always said that NHLe underestimates Liiga in comparison to the other leagues and here Liiga's weighed almost twice as highly in comparison to leagues like OHL as in the usual NHLe conversion factor charts I've seen. Which does seem more accurate. Not all of these stats are equal. Both Zadina and Tkachuk are almost a year older than Kotkaniemi.
I'd like to see such a chart. Just checked SM-Liiga stats from last years and when i saw some Charles Bertrand as top goal scorer, i wasnt impressed. Got worse with 42 yrs old Eric Perrin 4th in scoring. Yikes. I understand he played against men but... Expected more impressive names.Yep. I'd like to know the methodology. ....isn't this the case with every single league outside of NHL? What a dumb assessment.I'd like to see such a chart. Dummy here is trying to gauge SM Liiga vs SHL, KHL or even the men playing in the NCAA.....isn't this the case with every single league outside of NHL? What a dumb assessment.
I'm pretty sure all you were doing was showing your own ignorance, and not gauging anything. You do not know who Eric Perrin or Charles Betrand are so Liiga = Shit? Or Perrin is old = Liiga is shit?Dummy here is trying to gauge SM Liiga vs SHL, KHL or even the men playing in the NCAA.

Well, I had the twitter handle in the post but...
Thread starts on:
Yah, the GM doesn't have a say in who they draft 3rd overall...none at all.Bargainbin isn't in charge of the draft but ok
I'd like to know how legit that list is in the first place.I had no idea the finish league was so bad

There's KHL and there's "Russia". What's WHA? It's one strange list.Good point. Seems strange the Czech league is rated higher.

Who cares where he was ranked? Hell, where a player is drafted should stop mattering right after the draft.

Its a weighted list using a lot of data over a large period of time. WHA merged with the NHL almost 50 years ago, Russia is the RSL which was the predecessor of the KHL.
