Do you have an expanded version of that chart? I'm curious to see where players like Zary, Perreault, Foerster, and Mysak fall.

Also this is only for 2020 draft eligibles, correct?

They're entirely different players. Pelletier is quick and feisty while Bourque is an average skater and can be lackadaisical at times. Pelletier plays at a fast pace and gets a lot of his offense from the rush, and Bourque likes to have the puck on his stick and slow the game down. His poise, vision, and natural talent set him apart from Pelletier in my opinion, but Pelletier is better without the puck.

Pelletier strikes me as more of a complimentary winger, whereas I think Bourque has the potential to lead a line and play at center.

Thanks for the in-depth resonse!

Mavrik Bourque has decent offensive instincts and a good shot. Not much flash and skating needs some work, but is a guy that plays hard and plays to win. Probably Early 2nd but could sneak into the late 1st

Yeah Cosentino sees him as a 16-20ish guy and he’s got as good a read on CHL players as anyone imo.

Consentino also tends to ridiculously overrate CHL players. He has some sources, so if he's saying he's hearing NHL teams rank Bourque in that range, I might believe it. I wouldn't however take his opinion of CHL players to be that important.

I love Bourque on the PK and i think his best strenght on defense is when he is back checking. He is great for putting pressure on the puck carrier and creating turnover.
He could be better in his own zone and his skating could also be better

This. I understand it's his wheelhouse - but sometimes the fondness for certain players overshadows his rankings (Evangelista being a first round pick etc.)

As for Bourque, the skating needs improvement and he's going to have to push into the interior on a more consistent basis, but you can't teach the poise and timing he has. Kind of reminds me of Adam Fox with the stationary pumpfakes into smooth passes(positions aside of course). 22 on my board.

My pick for the most underrated player in this years' draft.
A good choice. Puck handling alone, he has a case for most talented player in a draft loaded with magicians.

In the modern NHL...skill like that doesn’t really slip through the cracks so long as it’s accompanied by decent skating and work ethic. Bourque has both, I would say.

The aspect of Bourque's game that I think gets underrated is his vision. He's one of the top playmakers in the draft and more likely to stick at center than a lot of others in his range.

His hands and vision are his bread and butter, but his shot is sneaky good. He has an extremely fast release, something that translates really well. His shot power isn't great but that should improve as he puts on mass.

His work ethic is actually pretty good. He's a fiesty forechecker and can have dominant defensive performances, they're just too inconsistent.

I don't think its unreasonable for him to be picked at around #10.

I agree. It’s when I see him being listed in the 20s or even out of the first round that I am convinced this draft is really good.

Best player on the ice by far in this game. Of course, every game won't be as strong, but even take away his points and it was still a great game from him

I love this guys skill set. I hope he is there with MNs 2nd 1st, but I’m doubtful. There’s also some concern about him as a C in the NHL, but I think he can do it if he improves defensively

I'm assuming the Habs also have him as a potential target for their pick at number 16. They more than likely saw a ton of him as Shawinigan one of the closer QMJHL cities to Montreal (only about 1h30- 1h45 from Montreal)

Hopefully so, he's one of the few prospects around 16 that have all the offensive tools needed to be a top 6 threat.
