5th Overall pick in the 2019 OHL Priority selection who is having a nice start to his season with Peterborough.

Watched him play alongside Shane Wright and co. at the Canada Winter games last year and thought he was one of the most impressive players on the ice.

How's his puck game for those who've watched a lot? Kid can shoot, but I didn't see him do a whole lot else. Admittedly, only one viewing.

This kid is a special player. He'll almost certainly have at least a top 3 shot in his draft year. He's smart out there, sees the ice really well, and doesn't take many shifts off. The most impressive thing to me is how he can control a powerplay as a 16 year old. On a PP unit that has Nick Robertson, SDA, and Declan Chisholm... McTavish is sometimes the one taking charge and making the good plays to set up chances. We are definitely going to be hearing a lot more of his name

Well actually he isn't in the mix for #1 overall.

Possible top 10 as this is a deeper draft than people think.

But we are 2 years out so alot can change.

Why not?

I'm not seeing a lot of big, goal-scoring PPG centers in the CHL who are two years away from the draft.

His father used to play in the Finnish league. Made a good career in Europe as an offensive threat.

How has he looked in your viewings GeorgeLeafer?

Ive only watched highlights thou... from highlights its alway so and so, but you can get the gist at least.
- excellent, his shot is his best ability (not his only thou)

Here's few quotes i found:

" Mason McTavish is an elite center with game-defining talent. He can do virtually anything asked of him, but dominates with his ability to generate offence, largely backed by a pro-level shot. "

" Mason McTavish’s game is led by an exceptional shot combined with tremendous strength,
he showcases excellent lower-body strength through a fluid stride with a low center of gravity,
along with strong edgework that allows him to maneuver around or through his opponents. "

" Coaches and scouts argue that his shot is already pro-level, with pin-point accuracy and a deceptive release,

" Mason McTavish is an elite offensive center who can be trusted to play in all situations with success,
most notably, he can generate goals as well as anyone. "

" He is a skilled forward who is strong and very competitive and (has) what most observers would say,
the best shot among 2003-born players "

kid probably would have led the team in goals if it wasn't for the dude named robertson with an insane 31g in 28 games
