I don't know much about him, other than his stats
but i have a gut feeling that everyone should keep an eye on this guy
and his development.

just wow

I made a suggestion awhile ago that any prospect thread should only be allowed for players 16+ or playing in JR leagues or leagues like the BCHL

this kid is 14 and maybe a member of these board with his family and or friends and having a serious discussion about a 14 year player is just a bad idea

:(

Dude, not cool post.

Its a free speech Website, anyone who doesn't brake the rules can discuss anything, about anyone.
This isn't China, no one here limits what we discuss about.

What comes to you referring that someone here is related to him or he is a member of these boards, you are kidding, right?...
because i know that you cant possibly be serious with that comment, but if you are....BS!.

That comment is borderline for braking the rules and a childish one for that matter.

I would say that it should start when they are starting to appear on published junior draft lists from respectable publications. Although, I fully agree that kids are getting promoted at way too young and age here.

As to your last point. In some cases, I wouldn't be shocked if its the family themselves doing the promotion. That has happened in OHL draft threads for years. Crazy hockey parents extend way past the rink.

From top 30 scorers, he is the youngest, the only 9th grader, mostly 11 & 12 graders, few 10's.
From top 50 scorers, only 2 other 9th graders. - again, mostly 11 and 12 graders.

Maddox is 18th in league scoring, but has 3-5 fewer games played.

I'm not going to go any beyond than top 150, no more 9th graders, 4 x 10 graders, rest were 11&12th graders,
i thinks its safety say that, most of the players are 11 and 12th graders.

FYI, this league (group of leagues...divisions, or something) isn't a joke, i saw several and i mean several (not just one or couple) already NCAA committed players.

Why? This the "Prospects" board on a site originally called "Hockey's Future".

Seems like a random kid playing in a high school league a few years ahead of most. I don't see the infatuation here. Not suggesting you know the kid, but I can pick any random 14 year old and make a thread for him.

Your opinion vs my opinion,
no one sure can tell how these things develop, turn out, but that's always the interesting part to find out.

I don't know anything about this kid BTW., i mean, how could i? Not that long time ago i didn't even knew that he existed.
I thought he had a cool name, then i scrolled down and noticed, pretty damn good stats for someone who plays in the USHS-MN
as this young, so i started to follow his statistic progress, also, when i first stumbled to his eliteprospect profile,
there were just over 100 views, now there are over 3000....
- i have a gut feeling about him...also he is sort of dominating there as a 14 year old,
playing against players that most of them are 3 years older than him in a league that
already haves at least 15 players committed to play in the NCAA (from those players that i checked)

FYI. (just for the sake of all things)
When i accidentally found Alex DeBrincat's profile from the same site, only few hundred people ever had even heard of him
and only 1 video uploaded about him into youtube (by his older brother), google search only found 1 page of stuff about him.

Few weeks later (when his OHL rookie season begun) i started to post highlight videos of him to my youtube channel of that time
(that youtube channel doesnt exist anymore), pretty much every day. Those videos got first about 5000 views,
then 10 000 views, then 20 000 - 50 000 views.

I started talking about him, but not many thought much of him, (though i wasn't the first one to create a thread about him to here....
i was second :)) Everyone (most) just saw him as some smurf who can't even skate that well and 99% said that he is a product of his line mates. - oh-boy were they wrong...

....not saying this or that, but maybe i'm right with this one too :) (i have had "luck" with other unknown prospects in the past)

Try - to be fair, some pretty respected posters here have seen Fleming play and come away impressed. I think he’s viewed as a highly exciting kid in the ‘04 age bracket for both Minnesota and USA hockey. George isn’t the first to mention him.

George’s posts sometimes come off as a little bit of “stat gawking” but I think there’s definitely something here with Fleming worth watching (with the patience and realism knowing this is a young kid).

Take those numbers with a grain of salt. He's playing against some pretty bad competition in the southern part of the state.

However, I will say that he is pretty legit and I see him as a prime NTDP candidate in a few years.

Here is a full list of all the D1 commits playing MNHS this year. As you can see, there are far more than 15, but only one that plays in the southern part of the state (Zmolek at Rochester Century). MN Boys' Hockey Hub | 2017-18 Recruiting

Why are you complaining? He will get noticed anyway...
