5 points in 30 games seems kinda underwhelming offensively.

Other Swedes (edit: in SHL) with late birthdays in their D-1 season:
Elias Lindholm: 0+0 in 12 GP
Lias Andersson: 0+0 in 22 GP
Rasmus Asplund: 2+1 in 33 GP

Not saying these guys are big producers, but the points will come with time.

Intriguing, is he looking like the best FW prospect for Sweden in 2018?

He just turned 17 years old, two months ago. It is very impressive, it's not often a player that is 16/just turned 17 years old gets to play as much in SHL as Isac has, and he has really taken the chance he was given. Its more often than not that he is one of the best players on his team, at least when it comes to creating offense. The strength and balance he has is amazing for his age.

Like others have said before, no it is not. SHL is not a development league. He is 16 years old and has earned his place on a team trying to win.

Not really.

Backstrom had 0 in 19 games.

Most don't even play in the SHL at all.

Definitely got the memo, all.

Thanks for clarifying.

Why not more talk on this kid? I've liked him every time I've seen him in international tournaments. Don't know if he'll be an elite player but should be a great all-around NHLer. The typical swede :) Could see him go as high as top15, or at least top20 next year. Speed, skill and a good dose of hockey sense is what I see in Lundestrom. Maybe not a very flashy guy but seems very effective at what he does. Thoughts? Who do you guys see as a good player comparable?

Great skater. Don't think he has the hands, creativity, playmaking or finishing ability to become a productive player though.

Solid game from him today. Think he was involved in four of the goals Sweden scored. Obviously helped having his linemate Steen on fire, but I liked his performance. Really good defensive player, breaks up plays and gets the puck to the other end of the ice. I think he could either be a top line complementary winger, or a driving force on a 3rd line in the NHL. He has pro tools IMO and with his versatility he feels like a safe bet to play in the show in some capacity.

Liked his game a lot today. He's a good player when he gets himself involved and plays with intensity, that's often not the case though. Good combo of skating and balance, he's only average tall but very strong on his skates. Lacks a bit creativity with the puck and his hands can look suspect at times.

If his play in these pre-season games is an indication of what's to come than watch out for this kid.. Watched Luleås preseason game vs Modo and Lundeström was by far the best player on the ice on both teams, dude was everywhere. Strong and fast on the skates, combined with smart play, great passing, silky hands, great and strong along the boarders.
Ended the night with 1+2 but could easily have had 4 points.

Don't really see this kid cracking the top 10 but could easily be an early middle first rounder.

He has looked amazing in the first two games of the preseason, I'm really looking forward to see what he can do in SHL this year. :)

Scored another goal in a pre-season win vs Djurgården. If he continues to play like he has he's up for a big year. Currently see him as a middle first like Button has him.

Not sure, but what i do know is that he's played on a line with Emil Larsson and Einar Emanuelsson so far this season. Both wingers, so id think center.

Yes, Isac is playing C at the moment, with Larsson and E.Emanuelsson as wingers. He had a great game today but didn't score any goals, but he got one assist. After a slow start to the season it seems like he is back on track in the last two-three games. Hopefully the first goal of the season will come soon too.
