Ladies and Gentlemen...we have a trade!!!

Does he go to Tucson or is he already one of our best centers?

Pettersson’s put up some respectable numbers in the AHL (46 in 76 last year and 33 in 46 this year). Wouldn’t be shocked if he gets a chance with the squad by the end of the year.

Dauphin wasn't keeping up the pace from last year, plus he had to go through waivers now.

Best part about this is getting under 50 contracts. I'd still like to shed 1 or 2 more for added flexibility ahead of the deadline.

The more I learn about Pettersson, the more I like this trade. TD flexibility, and Pettersson has got enough production that he could come up to the big club and stick (his brother certainly has).

Freed up a contract, and Pettersson doesn't have terrible numbers. Could be a better option than Weal should he get a look up here.

Jérémy Grégoire is also part of the deal it appears, but he's on an AHL contract so it doesn't count as a NHL transaction. AHL-only contracts of course do not count toward the NHL contract limit.

I questioned sending a couple of decent guys from the Runners away like that...I am not sure they got an upgrade, but I know it was really about 50->49.

Clearly this is a move to reunite the Pettersson brothers.

We've had both Ekman-Larsson's, both Hossa's, and both Roenick's, too.

Another Swede, another Center and importantly one less contract. Chayka keeping with his 1.03 trades per month ratio (Weal trade was Jan 11th).
