Exciting times for Wolves fans as it appears prospects are now willing (and excited) to commit to the program.

They just had an excellent OHL draft, headlined by Goyette.

Any relation to Phil?

No idea how old is Phil in that picture.
besides, he was born in 1933

He'd be either his grand something or great grand something
if they were related. - both are Quebecians thou and
born places that are less than 20 miles apart.

Interesting he is playing in the NCDC with Pal Islanders while OHL is on hold. Not sure how he got the okay from Sudbury. But interesting storyline nonetheless

Its not bad, good amount of D1 commits. Would think he would go play in the USHL somewhere though. A different move, for sure

Goyette is talented enough to play in the USHL but there are probably so many junior prospects from everwhere reaching out to USHL teams right now since they are one of very few junior leagues currently playing hockey in North America probably the best active junior league in North America at the moment. At least he's playing hockey and not at some garbage level where it would be a waste of time

Every junior hockey league in America is playing. Between the USHL, NAHL, and NCDC - the NCDC is the worst. Im surprised there isnt a team in the USHL that could make room for him.

The NAHL is an older, lower scoring, and physical league with brutal travel, so I could see why he would pass there. He was playing with Selects Academy last year and maybe felt comfortable out east.

I know its difficult to scout a player who plays for a bad team but
outside his low stat line, hows his game?

Yes and i'm a aware that Wolves are the lowest scoring team in the OHL.

Goyette is a name to watch. I’m high on him probably the best skilled forward in the OHL. He reminds me of Dylan Larkin. 4 goals against the Kingston Frontenacs.

One of my favorite prospects in the draft. Exceptionally quick and shifty. I think he is severely underrated skill wise

Also one of the few OHLers to find a place to play last season albeit for limited time . Might be an underated factor in his development

Tied for rookie scoring lead with a game in hand. Already has a 3 and a 4 goals game in 30gp. Flawless skating I love the way he changes direction and makes plays at such high speed. High first round pick.

There’s so much upside in his game. He’s already driving his OHL team. I have him top 5 forward in the CHL for the upcoming draft. Wright, Savoie, Del Bel Belluz, Goyette, Gaucher.

10 goals and 5 assists in last 10 games. Leads all rookies in the OHL with 34 points in 35 games.

He is a first round prospect ranked far too low. I'm sure scouts will recognize and place him higher in the final rankings . Hopefully he gets the chance to represent Canada for u18 championships and show his skills on a big stage

Would love to see Detroit take him in round 2/3 if he's there.

Third round is way too low for him, I think anything below top 20 could be a big steal for a team that gets him

I agreeu, but Bob Mckenzie put out a ranking 4 days ago and he wasn't in the top 80.
