Was looking into defenseman Jamie Drysdale and noticed Swankler had decent numbers in his first OHL season. He was ranked 200 by Central Scouting amongst North American skaters after not being selected last year.

Another player from the Pittsburgh area. Does a team take a shot on him in the later rounds?

Just 3 games for Michigan so far. Why?

He's played five games for Michigan as of Jan 13th

It looks like he had to wait for the 60-day transfer period to end after he left Bowling Green at the beginning of the season:
This Week in CCHA Hockey: Despite difficult early-season distractions, Bowling Green players, staff focused on moving forward as a team - College Hockey | USCHO.com
He’s at Michigan Tech, not Michigan

Here is an article from when he was given his original waiver.

Given the nature of NIL, the transfer portal, and various other litigation, can't help thinking it’s only a matter of time before you see CHL players taking over college hockey in the US.

His eligibility was apparently granted in error. I wouldn’t expect something like it to happen again:

Didn't know about the RPI and Michigan commitments BEFORE he played at Bowling Green.

While there are always extenuating circumstances (and possibly a significant personal reason for him to go to school and play hockey close to home), so many changes would seem to be tough - both in terms of studies and hockey development.
