I havent watched as much QMJHL as I wish this season but I never got the feeling Gendron was a legit NHL prospect. He's small and simply not talented enough in my opinion. He was never highly touted.

He is certainly doing good this season but I see him more as simply a good junior player. Not an NHL prospect

I could be wrong, though, you just never know

Interesting detail of Alexis; was a 7th round pick in the QMJHL draft in 2019
and was a 7th round in the NHL draft in 2022.

Dude has done helluva work to get to where he is at atm.
- there are not many stealing a spot from a CHL team from 7th round

Yes, that is the rule for guys drafted out of the CHL. If your 20th birthday is December 31st or earlier, you can play in the AHL that season.
