Byfuglien as a forward

Byfuglien is usually a top 60 pick in our league, because defensemen get more pts for a goal and an assist. Big Buff usually hits 55ish points and drops 80 PIMs, with lots of PP points, making him fantasy beast.

The site we use (Pickuphockey) will make his position based off what NHL.com has him listed, which is RW. So it's likely he will start the season as F, and even if he does swith back, he will be listed as a F for the rest of the season.

This hurts his value, a D-man get's 6 points per goal, and a forward gets 4...

Unless Buff can be a 70 point guy on forward, I'm probably going to move him before it becomes known that he's a forward.

I might be able to grab Shattenkirk for him, think I should pull the trigger?

Buff projections: 55pts (x4) / 80 PIMs (x.5) / 25 PPpts (x1) / total: 285pts
Shattenkirk projections: 43pts (x6) / 40 PIMS (x.5) / 25 PPpts (x1) / total: 303pts

Cliffs:
>Is Buff going to be forward 100% to start the season?
>If yes, does he have potential to hit more then 55pts?
>Should I trade him for Shattenkirk based on scoring system above?

The Jets team worries me a lot. I see them blowing it up with trades soon.

I don't like any Jets players right now except for Wheeler, Ladd and Trouba

I'd do that trade. Like you said, Buff has way less value as a F. If you can sneak it through on somebody who doesn't realize it, do it.
