If it's not Patches, you may as well trade him as he'll be useless as a 3rd line centre not to mention Eller or Briere would likey be playing on the 2nd and 3rd line roles if DD can't anchor the 2nd.

He'll likely be playing the left wing if he can't hold down the centre spot on the 3rd line.

Wow, we're so small up front. Building the lineups always depresses me. Why sign DD AND Briere!? They're the same freaking midget at the same freaking position. Makes us not only small but redundantly small!

Line up looks better without DD. Wonder if they can get an asset from a team like Phoenix who might need a player like DD. Maybe someone like a Zbynek Michalek, Klesla could be had if we sweeten the pot.
