I feel bad for Jameis. He needs to understand why he's different from the many other star athletes that can treat women like dirt and do what they please with them. Status and money don't make up for a subhuman eye area, potato face and inferior hyoid bone. It's also telling that Ronald Darby and his loooooooooooooongface of doom with non-existent zygos continues to defend Jameis. It's hard, but you need to accept being genetic trash, lads.

Bills' Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano Bring Swagger to Transform Defense
The Buffalo Bills are entering the second year of the Sean McDermott era. After snapping an 18-year long postseason drought in his first season as Buffalo’s head coach, the Bills are looking to take another step forward in the 2018 NFL season. Despite the teams unexpected success, general manager Brandon Beane remained aggressive throughout the offseason. He bolstered the defensive line, a unit that was a huge weakness of the 2017 squad, signing defensive tackle Star Lotulelei and edge rusher Trent Murphy during free agency before trading up to select Tremaine Edmunds with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Just 19-years old on draft day, Edmunds was a star for Virginia Tech and will likely become the youngest in NFL history when he takes the field in Week 1. Edmunds has star potential and he’ll be playing alongside Matt Milano, who surprised everyone with an impressive rookie campaign despite being a fifth-round draft choice.

Buffalo clawed their way into the postseason largely due to the stellar play by by the team’s secondary. The opportunistic unit helped the defense intercept 17 passes and force 25 turnovers in 2017. General manager Brandon Beane and Head Coach Sean McDermott clearly knew they couldn’t rely simply on big plays to keep games close in 2018. Despite an inconsistent, and sometimes stagnant offense, Buffalo’s front seven was terrible against the run. In coverage, teams took advantage of Buffalo’s linebackers, who lacked the athletic ability to be counted on in pass coverage.

Here at Cover 1, we broke down the defensive line overhaul, highlighting the players they added and how the defense would benefit from players like Lotulelei and Trent Murphy. Both are quality players that probably don’t get the recognition they deserve because their roles put them in a position to facilitate plays, rather than make them. However, It’s Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano that should reap the benefits of those additions.

Bills GM Brandon Beane details how his deals were made

It was just about two o’clock in the afternoon on Halloween, two hours before the NFL trade deadline. Bills’ general manager Brandon Beane’s phone rang. On the other end was Carolina Panthers’ GM Marty Hurney, who wanted to revisit a conversation the two were having just the day before.

Beane’s Bills were 5-2 and playing well. Ending the organization’s 17-year playoff drought was looking more and more possible each week. But to keep winning, Beane felt the team still needed to add another piece to their roster, especially at wide receiver since Jordan Matthews was just coming off a knee injury and there was still some uncertainty surrounding it.

We may win 6-9 games this year. McCarron may start a lot, Shady will be top 5 in rushing again, the secondary plays insane again etc etc. but 2020 May be where we pick top 5. In 2019 Allen may be a first year starter, Kyle Williams will be retired, Shady likely regressing to a below average RB, Benjamin gone and no WR help. I would prefer if we are not going to be competitive that Peterman just starts every game and we go 4-12.

2018 NFL coach power rankings: Bill Belichick and then ...

RANK 19

Sean-McDermott-2.jpg

Sean McDermott, Bills
With only a single season of head coaching, 19th is not a bad place to be for McDermott -- not with all the successful veteran head coaches in the league right now. The biggest feather in hisBills ballcap is the fact that he pushed this franchise back into meaningful January football for the first time since the Music City Miracle. Some folks think that was a miracle in and of itself. The lone blemish was the ill-fated decision to start Nate Peterman over a healthy Tyrod Taylor in Los Angeles. It almost cost Buffalo that much-coveted wild-card spot. McDermott has his work cut out for him with Taylor gone and Peterman competing with AJ McCarron and rookie Josh Allen for the starting spot.

Chris Ivory's punishing running style is a welcome addition to the Bills backfield
Nothing has come easy for Chris Ivory in his NFL career. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent from tiny Tiffin University and now nine years later the Bills are counting on Ivory to fill a key role in the Bills running back room.

“It’s a blessing for one,” said Ivory about entering his ninth NFL season. “Being that I made it this far, I think it’s a great accomplishment, especially coming out as an undrafted free agent. When I look back and I think it’s just a blessing.”

The Bills brought in Ivory to complement LeSean McCoy and add a productive veteran presence to the offense. Bills head coach Sean McDermott sees the value in Ivory’s veteran experience and his style of play.

As the quiet period of the NFL is in full swing, Joe Buscaglia and Matthew Fairburn brought in the friend of the pod Tyler Dunne to chat about the current Bills, media stuff, what it would be like to cover the early 90s Bills, and even some talk of the southern tier. Come for the podcast, stay for the friendship!

Lol Mike McCarthy 6th. If Housley coached the NFL, he would be higher rated than that if he had Rodgers. McCarthy has wasted one of the greatest of all times careers.

The Buffalo Bills are still three weeks away from the start of training camp, but Joe Buscaglia and Matthew Fairburn discuss what the expectations should be for the Bills in 2018, and what's a fair way to approach the year as well. Plus, the Jake Plummer jersey giveaway!

Ranking divisions by quarterback: NFC North, NFC West top list

You know what they say: It's all about the quarterback. And "they" are right.

But which division will boast the best collection of quarterbacks in 2018? The worst? Let's rank 'em!

NOTE: Quarterbacks listings within each division are presented alphabetically by team. And as you can see, I didn't necessarily pick the projected Week 1 starter in each situation, but rather the guy who will make the biggest mark on the season.

6) AFC EAST

Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen
Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill
New England Patriots: Tom Brady
New York Jets: Sam Darnold

For the sake of this exercise, I'm going to lift up the division by projecting that Allen and Darnold will play sooner than later. In fact, I give both a chance to start in Week 1. Especially Allen. I don't want to hear about AJ McCarron. And spare me the Nathan Peterman nonsense. The Bills smartly traded up for Allen because he's the next Carson Wentz and oozes talent. I believe in Darnold, too. I hope he wins the Jets' job. Meanwhile, Tom Brady is the greatest of all time. And Tannehill is a guy.

2018 Roster of Officials Confirmed

The NFL roster of game officials for the 2018 season will include seven first-year NFL officials among the group of 121, the league announced today.

Field judge LAND CLARK (Pac-12), field judge MATT EDWARDS (Big Ten), side judge CHAD HILL (SEC), field judge ANTHONY JEFFRIES (SEC), back judge TONY JOSSELYN (SEC), line judge MARK STEWART (Big 12) and field judge DON WILLARD (Big Ten) will make their NFL officiating debuts this season.

Four officials – SHAWN HOCHULI, ALEX KEMP, CLAY MARTIN, and SHAWN SMITH – have been promoted to referee for the upcoming season. Each of them were referees at the highest level of college football prior to entering the NFL at different positions and have been part of the NFL’s Referee Training Program from their first season in the league.

Both Shawn Hochuli (ED HOCHULI) and Alex Kemp (STAN KEMP) are the sons of former NFL referees.

2018 NFL Supplemental Draft offers value; Keenan Allen's secret

The NFL Supplemental Draft rarely garners much attention from the football world, but this year's event features a number of promising prospects with the potential to impact teams as contributors this season. This is certainly uncommon for a draft that typically features misfits and cast-offs with spotty records and character flaws. Despite those red flags, the supplemental draft has produced some high-level playmakers in the past, with guys like Hall of Fame inductee Cris Carter, Josh Gordon and Terrelle Pryormaking their mark in the league after being mid-summer draft pick

That said, the decision to expend a future pick on a player with academic or off-field issues is a risky play in a league where executives cherish draft currency. To select a player in the supplemental draft, a team will submit a bid with a round value attached to a prospect. If multiple teams submit bids, the player goes to the highest bidder, according to a slotted lottery system that breaks up teams into three different groups: non-playoff teams with six or fewer wins, non-playoff teams with more than six wins and playoff teams. The winning bidder agrees to give up the round selection in the following year's NFL draft. For instance, the Cleveland Browns used a second-round pick on Gordon in the 2012 supplemental draft, thus surrendering their second-round selection in the regular draft the following spring.

With the risk-reward value in mind, let's take a look at the five prospects available in this year's supplemental draft, which will take place on Wednesday, July 11 at 1 p.m. ET:

Sam Beal, CB, Western Michigan
Adonis Alexander, CB, Virginia Tech
Brandon Bryant, SS, Mississippi State
Bright Ugwoegbu, LB, Oregon State
Martayveus Carter, RB, Grand Valley State
