Good. I'm also hoping they could be in on Leskinen or Kaski. Keep that feeder system full.

Signing him would be really hard on Rob Ray.

Perhaps the best reason to do it. :D

Those Finns love their cellies

Interesting to see that most of his goals come from in tight, he shoots off his back foot accurately.

Not sure why this all has to be in the daily swirl of the Roster Thread, so until someone can move the posts, might be a good idea to put chatter about him in one spot.

Nope. He's 22 years old as far as draft eligibility is concerned, which means that since he has not been previously drafted, he is not draft eligible. The fact that he's a late birthday doesn't matter.

8.4 Eligibility for Claim.
(a) All Players age 18 or older are eligible for claim in the Entry Draft, except:
[...]
(v) a Player age 22 or older who has not been selected in a previous Entry Draft and shall be eligible to enter the League as an Unrestricted Free Agent pursuant to Article 10.1(d).

[...]
8.10 Age of Players. As used in this Article, "age 18" means a Player reaching his eighteenth birthday between January 1 next preceding the Entry Draft and September 15 next following the Entry Draft, both dates included; "age 19" means a Player reaching his nineteenth birthday by no later than September 15 in the calendar year of the Entry Draft; "age 20" means a Player reaching his twentieth birthday by no later than December 31 in the calendar year of the Entry Draft; "age 21" means a Player reaching his twenty-first birthday by December 31 in the calendar year of the Entry Draft; and "age 22" means a Player reaching his twenty-second birthday by December 31 in the calendar year of the Entry Draft.

Funny tidbits:

- 2nd highest point total in a D-2 season in the U20 Jr. Liiga play with 31, behind only Patrick Laine's 37.

- His name means "Swedish" in Finn. And he plays with a guy named Suomi on Ilves (and now on the WC tuneup team), which translates into "Finland".

- Was on the Finn U20 WJC team that had to win or get relegated in 2017 the year after they'd won gold (not a team he was on).

After watching one of his highlight videos, Seems to have a good release. King of Empty Net Goals. Finds himself on top of the crease to cash in goals. Looks to have okay skating.

Again, this is just watching highlights so I'm sure I'm missing a lot of his game

He has some ENG's sure -- means his coach trusts him in those situations.

Fan of the club he is currently signed on (Ilves) so I've got pretty clear vision what he is and what he aint.
Fast, hard working and the key piece for Ilves this past year. Is from the same class actually as Sebastian Aho and Jesse Puljujärvi but was the only one left to take the step overseas. Most likely undrafted due to his size which may be a limiting factor for sure.

Thanks for pointing that out Jagemon. Listed as 5'8", 180 lbs....

A 1997 born player that finishes 9th in goals in the Finnish league does not have the potential to be a legit NHL'er.

42 points in 59 games in Finland would translate to <20 points in the NHL. We don't need more crappy players.
