At the very least, since Reimer was the one who made the contact with Marchand and Marchand was skating his line around the goal the goal should have been allowed and if they were going to call a penalty the goal should have been allowed.

No way was there interference there. It was a make up for the other call which was bad but not nearly as bad as this one.

Refs really, really suck this year and it isn't just in Bruins games.

And they didn't see the high-stick on Hamilton which would of been a 4 min PP ...

Hamilton got high sticked by Seids so that was actually a good non call. Probably the best call the refs made all night.

Leaf fan coming in peace

I told you guys earlier this would NOT be a cakewalk and the leafs would give your team the biggest fight of the season, and I was proven right.

All in all good game, you guys won because of the Bruins dominant play in the 1st period and because the Leafs refused to take quality shots on net all game long.

Even though the leafs lost, I'm not disappointed because we went down swinging.

Oh man....is this real life?

Buffalo actually beat us. They scored 7. Your team had 14 shots 45 minutes in.

The goal wasn't allowed because the Ref intended to blow his whistle due to the Marchand injury, not because of the contact between Marchand and Reimer. He had started to raise the whistle to his lips when the puck went in the net.

As irritating as the rule is, it was the right call. Player safety should always be the primary concern.

P.S. To those that are wondering why they reviewed it, the refs at the game mucked that one up. They should not have called for a review, but they did. The Situation Room made the right call and told them that it was not a reviewable play and they shouldn't have called.

Except the explanation after the review was "goalie interference" so there goes that theory.

EDIT - unless this was a ruse for the officials to try and save face rather than go with the whole "meant to blow the whistle" explanation. Which is even more bush league.

The explanation from the NHL was that the ref was in the process of whistling the play dead.

Except the ref on the ice said it was interference.

Stupid call and if the ref was about to blow the whistle for a man being injured it seems pretty darn cruel to take away his team's goal because he was waiting around to make the decision.
