Maple Leaf History

Toronto’s entry in the newly formed National Hockey League for the 1917-18 season played its first game on December 19, 1917 against the Montreal Wanderers. Toronto scored a total of nine goals but still lost the game by a count of 10-9. Ironically, it was the only win for the Montreal Wanderers in the NHL as the team folded operations when their arena burnt down after only six games. That left the new league with only two other teams - the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators - to compete with the Toronto team in the inaugural season of the league.

Boston Bruins

Boston Bruin History

The Bruins joined the NHL in 1924. Art Ross was the team’s owner, general manager, and head coach. Under Ross, for whom the annual Art Ross Trophy for the NHL’s leading scorer is named, Boston advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals three times in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Ross assembled a powerful lineup around defensemen Aubrey Clapper and Eddie Shore, goalie Cecil “Tiny” Thompson, and center Ralph “Cooney” Weiland. Weiland’s league-high 73 points in 1929-30 stood as a franchise record for 14 years. Ross guided the Bruins to both their first and second Stanley Cup victories: In 1929 the Bruins defeated the New York Rangers 2 games to 0, in what was then a best-of-three series, and in 1939 they defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4 games to 1, in what had become a best-of-seven series.

I was going to wait till tonight or tomorrow morning to start the GDT, but thought it might be good to move on from last nights game.

Like the players, lets forget about yesterday and concentrate on the next one.

Great job!! Really appreciate it!!

Seids vs Armstrong again?;)

Hope Seguin and Hamilton score tomorrow night. Maybe a little home cooking will be just what Seggy needs.

B's need to play their game. Finish checks, strong on the puck, crash the net and for the love of Mikey take the shot if they have the ability to. Enough drop passes and trying to pass in traffic.

Coach said Paille won't be making the trip...deemed "upper- body injury" until team can get all the details^CS

But Bergeron and Krejci are good to go.

Krejci maintenance day as well today. Both he and Bergy will be ready to go tomorrow.^CS

But Bergeron and Krejci are good to go.

So that's why Tardiff was called up. Have a feeling we'll see

Looch - Krejci - Horton
Marchy - Bergy - Seggy
Tardiff - Peverley - Kelly
Mac - Campbell - Bourque

Expecting something big from Seguin. He usually has this teams number so I expect him Bergy and Marchand too go too town. Hopefully, this is Seguins breakout game.

Also, a full Kessel would be nice.... or a 2/3 Kessel in this case I guess.

This game is on NHL Network or NBC w/e which will mean I will HAVE to listen to Leaf announcers even when I get the hockey package.

Pie and Sugah out

Hope Seguin and Bergeron snap out of their funk

IF Orr is playing IDK who will fight him

Sucks to admit as a Leafs fan, but you guys can count on Seguin/Hamilton scoring a few goals between them tomorrow night. And on a Rask shutout. Hope we never trade with you guys again. :shakehead

Just worry about finishing your checks. McDermit can wrestle orr into the box for 5. And we'll have the run of the chicken coop. Man for man, we're still the superior team.

Can't count on him to do anything except miss the net on breakaways and 2-on-1s.

Nah bro, we need Matt Kassian, Steve MacIntyre, and we need to bring Bob Probert back from the dead. :sarcasm:

We have Lucic, Chara, Manchuk, Darth Quaider, and even Ference to deal with that goon. I'm not too worried

EDIT: MacDermit too (Spelling?)

Just to clarify, Armstrong is on the scabs now...but I get your drift....

Go B's....(going to the game tomorrow and Im hyped that the B's will bounce back with a great effort after the stinker against the Sabres.)

I'd rather see Robbins get called up than Bourque

Lkh
Bergy Line
Tardif - Kelly - Pevs
Macdermid -Campbell - Robbins

It's still early in the season and it would be a good idea to field other guys for what they bring, and Bourque's talents for what they are would be wasted on the 4th line

If they can't beat this lottery team I don't know what to say.
