He has never ever had 60 points .59 is his high so lets get that straight..And he is -8 this year.So no matter how many points he has when he is on the ice the other team has scored 8 more times then Boston. That is why people complain.
Without his offense, where do you see the Bruins back end?

with todays canes/wild trade and the overwhelming response by hfboard experts that it was a 1 sided fleecing... will these experts give pause in the future and question whether they actually have an understanding of nhl trade value? or will they continue to ridicule proposals and talk authorative how 'that will never happen'

I am finding it such a wonderful learning experience in my keeper ehm sim league im blessed to have been able to join this year... just this week ive been trying to trade for zdeno chara to my team. im a bruin fan and want him. so ive been making foolish offers of young very good players that will be valuable in the sim for years and its very possible chara will retire next year. our rules are guys without a contract cant be used.

the other gm has told me ive made a couple offers he likes... but no trade. that's his right. he doesn't have to trade with me. im learning. even though hes telling me my offers are good enough, I cant get him to agree to this trade

that's how real nhl is I think... you might be making an offer the other side feels is ok... doesn't mean they have to accept it. and then you are in a situation... do you offer more? you are already giving them a win... will you offer more now because you want this deal to get done?

real nhl gms have million dollar jobs to protect. in my sim league I got almost nothing at risk. still, I learn you just cant make a trade magicially happen because you simply want it and offer the other side a winning valuation.

I wish fans here could be a little bit more aware that some trades WILL HAPPEN that make no sense to you... and some WONT HAPPEN no matter how much sense they make

have some more humility when you try to shout down your fellow posters and their ideas because you often get caught with your own pants down when these deals actually happen for real

Well I dunno. That is a good question. But the fact he is -8 bothers me especially when he gets a ton of powerplay time.
I understand that, but he's so much better offensively than any other d-man we have, or in the system. He's dynamite on the PP.

have to study any players +- before it tells a full story. krugs is always a bit worst then whoever he plays with. but some of that can be effected by empty net goals against. some can be effected by short handed goals against.

im not as concerned about his plus/minus. I just use the eye test and hes a weak defender who gets taken advantage of often enough that it is easy to see. a lot of his losing battles lead to high quality scoring chances that he isn't able to recover and neutralize.

as a 3rd pair/pp specialist I think he does more than enough offensively to outweigh his limited ability in the d-zone. but then the cap hit becomes a problem

if theres any way to fit him in the cap... he could be an asset. I do think someone will try to use him correctly and be happy with him. I think our d is now deep enough we should be able to use him properly if he stays. I never again want to see him being given first pair assignments. I wish his cap hit wasn't so hurtful. but all-in-all the nhl is moving towards rules that help guys like krug. and we don't have a lot of other guys even 80% as good at what he does.

would I trade him to get that high impact second line wing/center we are needing? absolutely if its the right guy... but that's because bringing in the right guy will require we clear cap room. im not sour on krug.

a krug for Tarasenko or Hopkins type deal? wed have to add... but absolutely

on the other hand if he stays I will cheer him. hes fun to watch

I thought Victor Rask would have made a nice 3C here. But that price was steep.

if niederiter was available as an ufa this year and someone told me I could sign him for 3 years at 5.25 mill

and I just took a quick look at his stats... saw that he will be 27 when next season starts {very few guys improve at 27}

had 112 goals in 498 career games...231 points {is that an average of less than 20 goals and less than 40 points a season? has just 2 seasons in his career over 40 points???

am I really wanting to spend 5.25 mill of my precious cap on that???

over his last 109 games hes thrown 104 hits... this feels like a guy who is collecting a paycheck
and doesn't want to work hard enough to risk any bruises or extend an effort out there

we freak at backes being a 40 point guy over his last 82 games when he brings it... and we want to bring in niederiter who goes out there for a free skate offering almost nothing but 40 points?

im sorry... deal me out...

of course, maybe Carolina thinks different and this was a 'steep' price. for me... I wouldn't even put a waiver claim on niedereitter because I don't want that contract

feels a lot like 2 unwanted contracts dealt for each other

Agreed that Nino isn't near as good anymore as many people think. He was reportedly shopped pretty heavily. Have to assume that market for him was pretty thin if they dealt him for Rask.

I never even considered Nino as an option

Would’ve like him to come on over here

Because he wasn't.

The Bruins had nothing really comparable to Victor Rask to send the other way.

Minnesota didn't sell this player. They traded a disappointing winger in Nino for a disappointing center in Rask. Clearly they feel they needed help in the middle more than they needed Nino's services as a winger.

Forsbacka-Karlsson is younger and is outproducing Rask this year, let’s not pretend he’s a stud. He’s declined in back to back years so far. That’s typically not a good sign. I’ve got family who are hurricanes season ticket holders (yes I know they are unicorns, you never see them in the wild) and the feedback I get on rask is that he’s maddeningly inconsistent.
